Hey everyone! Hoping everyone and their families are staying safe and healthy. Also hope you are still able to get outside and do some fishing safely! We put together a little tutorial on how to catch white perch.

You can catch perch in pretty much any body of water. In the spring, they spawn and will often times run up rivers. So now is the time to hit the rivers and take advantage of the spring run!

When fishing for white perch it's good to get your bait down to the bottom and multiple hooks is a plus. Sabiki rigs (which is basically a rig that has multiple hooks coming off of it - it's generally used to catch bait fish in large quantities quickly) can be really effective and allows you to catch multiple at the same time (which is always fun)!

Feel free to ask any questions yall may have and I'll do my best to answer. Again hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

Same here. Question for the OP, does the same work for Yellow Perch?

I've done some fishing up in your state and know about your two hooks on a line. The only way way we can fish more hooks on a line is on a trout line fishing for catfish.

There's a lot of White Perch in MD, in  the Chesapeake Bay area & tributaries. Most folks chase them using baits, but many are also caught on lures, and plenty of fly tackle.

I fished for them and Yellow Perch in the spring in the brackish rivers, and Crappies and other panfish, and sometimes even Shad & Herring were in the rivers at the same time.

I've been told that there are White Perch in Lake Marion & Moultrie, but so far I haven't caught any. They're considered a nuisance here by most folks.

IMO, they're one of the best tasting fish.  :)
