Got out on Presque Isle and the big lake.
My sonar is junk so no water temp available.
Visibility on lake near 3 feet and the bay  was slightly clearer.
Winds were calm a variable.
Cold front conditions.

My neighbor and I had trouble finding fish.  We only saw two fish caught and I landed two out of three hookups.  Of course the big smallie got off.
First smallie and fish on the Stratos.
Caught all the fish on a blade bait in gold on the main lake.

Tackle
Dobyns Sierra 703sf with a Sierra 2500 blade bait
Dobyns Champ 735cb glass with a Tatula svtw Bandit 300

Zippy glad you got ramps open.  Nice job, water temps must still be on the cool side.

Very cold!!!!!!!! These fish barely fought. Even the big fish that got off never fought till it got on top of the water.

Ah. Sorry I just misunderstood. I thought maybe Gary was coming out with a new bait that you were testing out for him.

zippy:  gonna ask a delicate question.  buy a used boat for lesser price.  then, have it spend time in the shop, upgrade electronics, possibly a TM.

how much more money was saved vs a new boat?

(take this from a guy who's a tin owner and won't own a glass boat)

for the size of the boat I wanted it would have cost me a minimum of $50,000. So far I have $13,000 into this one and once the fish finders are it will be another thousand. I would have never afforded a new boat of the same size.

plus, it takes an awful big tin boat for some of your larger waters.  in terms of safety and ability to 'go when you want'.

those numbers 'work'.

I had some friends on Erie this weekend. They said guys were stacked on top of one another in the bay. They ended up going out on the lake and found a good school full of footballs and they said they just sat in one spot all day and kept picking them off.

I can't wait for this to all blow over and get out on Erie.

Absolutely smashed them in the lagoon a couple days last week. Can't believe the amount of 3-4 lb bass I caught. Several went well over 4lbs

zippyduck

ohiobass,
Nice job. The largies were tough to get last spring. Good to see them back in the lagoon.
