At Tatman Run now. Water is 59* and clarity is about a foot or so.

We had a tough day on the potomac. I caught one wrong species and captain caught 3 dinks. Seemed to be a hard day for most. Enjoyable day on the water nonetheless.

And it was a mad house. We got to the ramp early.

It was good to meet everyone. Unfortunate that the fishing wasn't a bit better and fishballer had some engine issues. Did you guys get to a root cause on that? I bet plugs were fouled up from the oil mix and all those attempts to fire.

Thanks zip for letting me ride shotgun for the day. I enjoyed it and learned a lot just from watching. We will all have to try and do it again soon being it isnt terribly far.

We are too ugly and broke the camera...

We did not get a group photo. Fishballer and company were late getting on the water and after we towed them back closer to the ramp we went different directions. Though we should have while spending 30 minutes trying to jump their boat lol.

We had it fixed in under 5 minutes once I got it back to the garage and took the cowling off. It was the cogwheel on the top of the starter. It was stuck in the up position (up in the flywheel). We pushed it down and it fired up first try. And again on the second and third attempts just to make sure. That spring that pushes it back down into the starter must be getting weak, so we'll have to replace that.

It was great meeting you apiazza. I wish we could have talked and fished more. I posted a report thread if you have any pictures or anything you want to share in there.

Interesting. That explains why it sounded like a motor whining even after you let go of the key. Although doesnt explain why your battery was reading so low after just a couple hours on the water.

Give a holler if you are ever back home and looking for a fishing buddy. I'll happily drive out when I can.

According to my Dad, the voltage gauge isn't accurate until the motor is fully running. We had 14 volts whenever we had it running in the garage.

Interesting. That almost sounds like it is measuring voltage off the alternator and not directly off the batteries for state of charge. Either way, glad everything it up and running.
