Finally went to the range today with a neighbor who is a retired LAPD Detective.  I have not been there for a long long time and this was my neighbors first visit to the range since moving here.  I gotta say one thing for sure the man can shoot.  He was using a 1911 and was deadly accurate.  He says he has a large variety of guns but most are still in storage until his new house is built.

I took the opportunity to fire my Taurus Judge.  Always a hoot shooting .410.  Sure is a noisy rascal.  I have never shot .45 with it will have to try it some day.  The Judge is my home defense weapon and is often with me on the boat for potential use as a snake gun.  Have never fired it on the water and hope I never have to.  I do recall a couple times at a ramp over the years when I was glad it was with me.  It is a scary looking hunk of iron thats for sure.  I am not an avid shooter but do enjoy it from time to time.

which one do you have? seems there are 2 with the difference being a slightly larger handgrip on one.

i, too, am thinking about carrying one in the boat as a snake gun

Joe I think the model is a 31T.  It is black oxide with a 3" barrel and a 3" cylinder.  As I recall there are a ton of different models.  It is heavy and has some recoil to it but for its intended us it is just fine.  Certainly not a conceal carry deal.  I got it as a snake gun and a home defense gun and I think it would do just fine.  It is fund to shoot especially with 3" .410 loads

Buds right in that there are a bunch of different ones Joe, different lengths, different calibers, you can get each of them blued or stainless as well.

I have a governor because of the grip and it hold 6 rounds rather then 5, the Judge just didn't fit my hand well, my ring finger just touched the bottom of the grip without really being able to hold it and my pinky wasn't even close to holding it.  There are a bunch of after market grips for both but the Gov fit me out of the box.

I use mine all the time, is a damn fine snake gun  ;D

thats the thing about the judge -- my pinky doesnt fit and only about a quarter of my ring finger fits on it so i imagine its like a toy in your hands.

i like the idea of 6 shots in case there are 6 cottonmouths coming toward the boat or should i miss 3 times
or those dang copperheads.
