operating systems fall out (Mac)

Just finished upgrading my desktop (IMAC) to the newest OS Catalina.  The install was clean albeit more time consuming then I would like due to my DSL slower network speed but everything installed and operates as intended.

The fall it is that several of my applications are now not compatible with catalina.  My microsoft office products were quite old and now do not function although a link is provided to purchase Microsoft 365 so I guess I will have to do that to remain functional with especially my word or excel documents.  The other big fall out was Photoshop elements.  My program was old and also now is not compatible and I have to buy Elements 2020.  While these are not show stoppers it is just something to expect with this upgrade if any of you are getting ready to do this pay attention to some of your older applications, they may not work after you upgrade.

I also updated IOS on my IPAD and that too went very well and I had no apps that were affected.
