Planning to get a Daiwa Tatula in December. I was looking for a decent rod for it and came across the Lunker stiks and wondered how well they would work. I am mostly going to cast spinnerbaits from the bank.

Thanks For Looking :)

Sorry, I'm just seeing this. The Lunker Stick is a decent budget priced rod. They are a graphite/glass composite rod with a moderate action. Depending on the model you ordered and the weight of the spinnerbaits it will probably do fine.

Which model Tatula did you purchase?

Lipripper,I had to wait quite a while to get these things. Just about got to thinking I would never manage it.

Smallie stalker- An older one I think. "2016 Daiwa Tatula CT Baitcast Fishing Reel 100HS Right hand 7.3:1 TACT100HS" is how it is described. I'm not sure if it being a 2016 model is significant or not.. ???

That reel will last a long time and is a great choice for spinnerbaits.

As far as the rod I don't have any experience with Lunker Stiks.

I only use Power pro and for spinnerbaits 20-30 lbs should be enough.

Zippy's advice, as usual is spot on. That is a great reel.  ~sun

Most folks here use Power Pro. Myself and a few others use Spiderwire which has tested to have higher abrasion resistance than Power Pro.

We also have a sponsor here, K9 Fishing who make a great braid and they give members of Ultimate Bass a 10% discount if you use the code UB1 at checkout. I'm planning on getting some soon to try it out. Members here who have used have been impressed with it.

Here is a link to their site: K9 Fishing

And just so you have it for future reference you can find a list of all the sponsors who offer us a discount here:

Zippy I'll look for some of that then. :)

SS, the Tatula was my choice based on the fact that I hear very few complaints about it. Looking forward to trying a more modern reel. Most of my bass stuff is abu-garcia round reels that I bought used and cleaned up.

Anyone ever order from Fish Brain? I have not yet received shipping notification. I'm wondering if I should get a plan B? Notice bps has bionic blade rods on sale..

Take a look at Fins braided lines.  Or if you don't mind spending a lot for a few yards, Finatic Pro.

1reelfanatik,

Thank you, but I think the fin line is out of my budget. :)
