Better then q-tips for Cleaning Rod Guides

The other night I saw my wife cleaning her hummingbird feeders.  She was using a small brush to clean the feeding ports on the feeder.  A light bulb turned on in my head.   
I was cleaning up my gear yesterday to put it up for the winter.  I took one of those brushes and used it to clean the rod guides.  Worked great.   I had some algae that had dried on the guides.  In my opinion these brushes worked much better than q-tips.

Very good to know Ron.  Not that I have hummingbirds in my area.  But those brushes are similar to the brushes used for those specialized baby bottles.  Good tip.

we have 'backyard birds' here locally.  a store/shop that sells bird feeders, houses, etc.
will check there.

I use an old toothbrush with water and a drop of dish soap. For the micro guides, I use long pipe cleaners from the hobby shop isle at WalMart.

I do the same on all my guides. I usually get them all wet then start on one end with the toothbrush and a dab of Dawn dish soap.
