Lake of the Woods (Rose Lake) Coldwater Michigan

Big plans don't always work out the way you want, but it's nice when your back up plan produces some surprises!  I met up with a buddy I hadn't fished with in probably 4 years!  We had plans to fish Lake Erie, but 23 foot waves quickly detoured those plans.  We hit Lake of the Woods in Coldwater Michigan.  Plan was to catch some bass which we accomplished!  The big surprise was the walleye.  We didn't know the lake had walleye or really big ones in it.  Here's how the cold morning played out.

Nice looking Walleyes. I can remember when I use to get out and fish when it was cold like that but not anymore.

I don't think I'm far behind.  I use to ice fish all the time and I've only went once in the last two years due to the cold.  Body just doesn't handle it the way it use to.
