How does it perform? Can you compare it to the Curado DC? Is it worth the investment? Thx.

I do not own it in the DC version, but I do own the MGL version and I absolutely love it. The JDM version of all of these reels usually have a few extra bells and whistles that make them a little more unique.

I can tell you that the Scorpion DC is lighter than the Curado DC, and the spool is about 3g lighter as well, so it should cast lighter lures a little better as well.

This video might be helpful for you. Check out this guy's other videos. He might have more info on the Scorpion DC.

The Scorpion is a better reel than the Curado. JDM DC reels are in a different world, especially the older ones.

The man knows his stuff when it comes to reels.  The best around. :-*

I have one but have not used it a whole lot yet as I have not had very long. I use it for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. I bought it for the I-DC5 system for the ability to better fine tune the reel. But have read that that system is tuned to the way the Japanese cast & the I-DC4 for the way we do & have read some complaints about it( I think I read them on Tackle Tour). I have not a problem with the reel at all & cast it like I do my other reels. I do not have the Curado DC so I can not compare them. So far I am very satisfied with it but I guess time will tell.

This video is what prompted me to post the question. This guy seems like he does good review vids but I also like to hear from the guys on this forum. Thx!
I had heard somewhere that the JDM reels don't have the Shimano warranty.

That kid that makes them videos a biased Shimano fan boy. Take the bits and pieces out of the video that may help you to understand the reel you are specifically looking at, otherwise he a bunch of hot air, and annoying. Ive delt with him on another site, and after trying to argue against me on a certain topic about a Shimano reel, he realized he was dead wrong, and he got banned for his posts afterwards.

And yes, JDM Shimano reels get no USDM based warranty. But, you dont buy them because of a warranty, you buy them because they "woops"y as hell, and have little differences internally.

That's good to know. I know a lot of these you tubers are really just promoting a product. It's difficult to determine which ones are unbiased.
