I keep getting a pop up ad for sixgill buy one get one on instagram. The reviews seem to be either greatest ever or junk. Not much between. For $130 I would go with a more known and trusted brand but the thought of being able to knock out two new setups for that price (probably ML spinning and H baitcaster) its tempting...very tempting. Any experience with them?

I should spend that money on something like saving for a kayak, but where is the fun in that.

No experience with them. But I would rather have a way to get to the fish than more rods. Now once you have a vessel get more rods absolutely.

Yup, agreed. As I keep learning about new techniques I realize it's not one size fits all for rod/reel. Not to mention constantly cutting and tying something on is a pain. I have really been enjoying my dobyns colt 703 and shimano citica I pairing, though, and I wouldnt want to cut corners to save a couple bucks and then not enjoy fishing with it.

I have a couple sixgill reels and they are pretty good. My son has their creature series rods in 7'3" mh and I have to say it is right up there with my Fury 734 I believe it's actually a tad lighter in weight. I think they are well worth the price when you can get the bogo sale
I like my daiwa and shimano reels better but have been tempted to get a couple of their rods.
The owner seems like a straight up guy and is very active in the fb group.
