First fish caught on my fly rod. Caught several more but they were all the same size. Wish I could have gotten hold of a bigger bream but, the doc where we were was FULL of these little 3" bream.

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.

Congrats! I'd like to get another fly rod. Big bream are a blast, as are bass!

Anyone who has taken up the fly gear has to start somewhere!

Stick with it, and bigger fish will come!

Next thing you know, you'll be tying your own flies!   ;)

I've already spent that $$... lol... Though I've only tied about 4 fly's so far. I did fish w/ one for a little bit but I used a size 6 hook so it was a little big for those tiny tiny bream. Caught them using a #12 I got from academy.

Yep, or a Striper or a Redfish, or a Carp, or a .........! The list can be long, and they're all great on fly gear!  ;D

There are few things that compare to catching fish on flies or lures that you've made yourself! Welcome to the addiction!  ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

I just started fly fishing as well.  It isn't a bass but my first time out on the river near my house.  Lots of fun and very rewarding.

Congrats on the first fish, and the positive news is........the next one WILL (should) be bigger  lo

Makes me want to get my fly rods out again. I love catching small bass and bluegill on a 3 weight rod.

Keep swinging the long rod. Cooler weather brings some awesome surface action. And little bluegills can easily inhale a #4 hook, so don't downsize your flies too much. It's a blast hooking a 4 lbs bass when you're throwing flies at sunfish.

Quit reading this and go fishing!

It's fun throwing bass flies at bass too! Some of the flies I use are 8" to 10" long and I cast them with a 10 wt.  ;D

Fly fishing is what you make it. They make rods now from 0 wt up to about a 16 wt, so anything from Bluegills to Marlin can be targeted with fly tackle.  ;)

I still have my fly rods and reels. Haven't fished them in probably 40 years.
