So it is now time to come up with some ideas for another bucket list fishing trip.  Only this time I need to consider those fisheries that are not the most famous but just might be a jewell in the rough on its way to greatness.  I am thinking somewhere there might be a small lake that is chock full of fishing memories just waiting to be made.

I have no idea where this might be but I just bet that something like just might exist and is within a reasonable driving distance.  I would say anywhere from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and of course Tennessee.  This would be the areas that would interest me.  Just a nice quiet country lake would be my first choice.

If you guys remember the Brent Chapman Pro Vs Joe series they went to a lodge in Georgia that had a number of good bass fishing lakes.  I am thinking the name has something to do with the word Oak.  I will have to see if I can find this one again as it would be a very interesting thing to do.

Just remembered the name of the place.   Live Oak Plantation.  It has a lodge and 9 small fishing lakes.  Distance from Myrtle Beach is 400 miles

I dont know if you watch Ott Defoe's Hunt for Monster Bass but he went to a lake in western NC and caught some hangs on Horny Toads and A rigs. You can probably find the episode on Youtube.

Western NC has some great places.  I would not be surprised of the lake Ott's show was filmed on Cherokee or Fontana.  Just so many great places up near the Tennessee line.

Bud Robert will show you around out in mid-TN on some brown fish. Center Hill and Dale Hollow are out of sight. You might want to go to Pickwick too. The "other" lakes on the Yadkin chain are great. Tuckertown, Badin, Tillery. Bud you need to buy you a good fly rod. It would be a blast on the river to fish and you can do it sitting down too. A 10 inch bass on a light fly rod is a hoot

RB, I am strongly considering a Middle Tennessee trip.  I have been wanting to fish a couple of days with Jake Davis and go find some of those brown fish.  I was supposed to fish with Jake a couple years ago at Guntersville but Jake lost his Lower Unit on the way out that morning.  He provided another guide that we liked but still been wanting to do a full trip with Jake.  As you probably know I am a real fan of fishing with a guide.  It makes it so much easier on this old man.  Not sure when I would do it but most likely towards spring.  My wife is still experiencing some medical issues and I just can't leave her here alone just yet.

I've got Dale Hollow on my bucket list, as well as getting back to Pickwick. Maybe check those out?

I spent a week at Pickwick state park in one of their cabins in 2012. Clean and nice enough.

They were pulling water everyday because it was high and the fishing was out of sight. 4 out of 7 days were over 100 fish days.
