Now matter what, it always seems like the membership from Florida is looking for bass and then catching their fair share.  I enjoy the fact that they are active posters and eagerly share their catches with all of us in other parts of the country.  If you venture into some of their other threads, they seem quite supportive of one another and take steps to help each other out including the multiple events that they do around their state.

So when the posts get a bit slow on the main forum you can bet that something will be happening with the Florida gang.  I enjoy their posts and the ease at which they banter back and forth about their results.  Just a lot of fun for us non Florida folks.  Certainly a diverse group of bass fanatics live down that way.  Its easy to see why the Florida threads are so active and can be called a place where friends meet to talk bassin and catchin

FlatsNBay

That's one of the reasons I'm here. There's a great bunch of guys in the Florida group. I had the opportunity to meet and fish with several and they are really good sticks!

Well said Bud!

This group of guys are a fun bunch to be around.  The core of us get together a couple times a year and that is something I really look forward to.

They push me to be a better fisherman and are always willing to share info.

They are definitely some serious sticks with very diverse fishing strengths.  And on that rare occasion when I do manage to beat all of them in the same month, it's a very satisfying win.

Thanks to Lou and Rick for being the glue that holds the Florida board together.

There's a lot of Texans on various forums, but even on our home-grown boards, they're dwindling. Social media and self-aggrandizing are having an impact on boards like this one. I recently abandoned a forum because there were only a handful of ego freaks not posting anything helpful or useful and tearing down others. It stopped being fun, so I stopped posting. Glad to hear at least some of the sunshine state folks are keeping the fires burning here. Hopefully some of our fellow b"woops"s from other states will kick in and get more active too.

Thank you Bud!! The FL gang/forums rock!!  ~beer~

The Florida Guys really are a great and supportive group.

When I learned of my Cancer last year they were the ones I first turned to. I spoke with several via PM and let them know of what I was facing and their support was instant and heart felt.

Not knowing what the outcome would be, Our October Classic was a special time for me. The Fish Gods smiled down on me and I was able to not only find fish but to have some of the best days of fishing I have ever had. I hid some of my issues from the group during those days, not wanting to bring them down or look for pity, but Winning It was a Reward that I will not ever forget.

I have learned so much over the years from these guys and have got the Honor to watch some come in as basically Non-Fishers and see them become Contenders to Win each month. I only hope that I was able to help share as much as they have taught me.

Cuervo Jones, I have been following your posts, and I know you are one of the new kids on the block here on UB, but.... your contributions so far have been phenomenal. It's members like you, Donald Garner, and SteveTX that will help grow the Texas State Fishing Report board. Keep sharing and Thank you!!

Thanks Bassinlou! The thing I like about this board is the quality of the posts regardless of how many people are making them. There's a friendly group of helpful and supportive folks here and I hope that I can help contribute to some degree. This forum is refreshingly free from the social media wannabes and YouTube crowds that seem to be everywhere. Guys like you, Stevetx, DonGarner, Oldfart99, Smallie_stalker, and others are exactly why I'm here! Now let's get fishing and post up some new reports!

FLO GROWN

Since I joined UB and got active on the Florida board I've made some life long friends and have become a better and more diverse angler because of UB.

I think most of the credit goes to the Corks, they have the wisdom to let groups like the Florida board grow and others also.

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.

Rodney, I kinda look at it this way.  The Corks have provided the Gun but it is the Florida gang themselves that have the bullets and have been pulling the trigger.  They are active members and seem to welcome folks into their conversations anytime.  In a forum site it will always be the members that make the difference.  The acumen of the administration has set a tone for the overall site operation and continued success.  I don't have to tell you how fun it is just to be on the site.

But honestly the Florida board members are fine examples of UB members.

One of the main reasons I stick around is when the occasional azzhat wanders in and starts causing problems, Mike and the moderators are quick with the hatchet to remove him permanently before it affects the rest of the group.

That makes the forums a very comfortable place to come and share information with people you like.
