After picking up a couple of the new 2019 Levante's I decided to pick up a Destroyer FMJ from the good folks at American Legacy .
Now that I've had a chance to compare it to what I personally consider to be the gold standard of 1/2oz  jig rods the NRX 894 here's what I've come up with.
Sensitivity wise it's too close to call. They are both so good at bottom contact it's surprising if you've never fished one.
When it comes to fit and finish it's really no contest. The Megabass is perfect, just a beautiful build .
Rods in this price range aren't for everybody for sure , but.. at $400 the MB is $175 cheaper than the NRX and IMO every bit as good.

What are the specs and would it be good for anything else?

Zippy, The length is 7ft1 and the power is f6 in Megabass speak. It's a firm MH in my hands.
Also works great for T-rigs and I'm sure it would be a ok big spinnerbait rod, but it's built to be a dragger.
Megabass has a way to blend different grades of graphite into one blank . I won't pretend to understand how but the rod has a bunch of tip but still shuts off and gets into the power quickly.
In any case, it will get them headed to the boat in a hurry.

I don't own anything above the previous generation Orochi XX in the EMTF model, but I have to agree with you. Megabass rods offer everything that the high end GLoomis rods do (and they look better too), for a better price point. Lots of guys online have this same opinion.

That sounds like Point Blank material and builds. My LSCR has the same type of build and is lighter than air.

I've never tried a Point Blank but I have heard others say they are a great blank as well.

I can attest to the fact that this is true. Zippy showed me that rod up in NH and if I had my eyes closed I wouldn't have known it was in my hand.

Literally the lightest rod I have ever handled.

I don't think PB is megabass because I feel like MB is slightly beefier in the butt. Other than that, real close.
