Don, the way it looks we will won't be fishing until Wednesday.  I seldom take a camera with me on the boat since it has been bad juju for catching fish.  The camera on my flip phone is crappy and I seldom take any pics with it.  So, if I can remember I will try to take a few pics to show you some of our black bass.  I will be down river and I have not fished down there before but I suspect the colors should be dark down that way as well but they don't seem to have as much black water as up this way.

Good morning from Belton, Texas  :)

We're starting the day off here in Central Texas with Broken Clouds and Sunny Skies  ~shade  Our forecasted temps are 76 / 98dgrs with 84% humidity.  I'm sure by later on today with the heat index its going to be over 100 (+) degrees  ~sweat

We're off to Fredericksburg, Texas to attend another show at the Rock Box Theater.  Its a nice day trip and it gives me time to spend the day with the wife.  We're going to have lunch and supper at one of the Mom and Pop's restaurants that's in town  :food  ;PEP)   There's lots of opportunities to spend money down there in all those stores  lo  If you're into wine tasting well there are lots of places to do that also  ~beer~

Bud; You and the wife have a pleasant day on the water Wednesday.

To everyone have a relaxing Saturday.  Be safe in your travels and tight lines if you're out on the water.

Good morning!!! 88 headed to 90+ heat index 99, mostly sunny with high fluffers, no rain, a breeze that tempers the heat a bit. We're off to " Hots On the Deck" in a bit, I think the clubhouse will be the place to be, air conditioning.
Have a great weekend!!!

Good morning to everyone,

Clear Skies with the forecasted temps of 75 / 97dgrs with 100% humidity for Central Texas today  ~sun ~sweat

We're off to church in a little while.  Our lunch location for this afternoon has yet to be determined  :food ;PEP) :-\

It was an enjoyable day down in Fredericksburg, TX.  There was a nice breeze blowing which made it pleasant to be out walking around town.  The tribute show at the Rock Box Theater to Elvis was a sellout once again.  There is nothing planned for this afternoon except relaxing  ~shade

Rodney; Hope you had a enjoyable meal at the Hots On the Deck yesterday.

To everyone have a pleasant and relaxing Sunday.

quiet day today.  No tasks are planned (yet)  just hanging out in the air conditioning and staying cool.  Wife wants me to bring the boat home tomorrow so we can fish on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.  I was planning on Wednesday but she thinks that we need at least two mornings on the river.  Gonna be hot on Tuesday but Wednesday looks better but is more subject to thunder storms.  Usually no problem during the morning hours.

The rest of next week is booked with church stuff and medical appointments for both of us.  She has a routine dental check up on Monday so all in all next week will have a lot of different things happening.  Probably the only thing I will do today sometime is go online and pay some bills.

Oldfart9999

Afternoon all!!! 81 headed to mid 80s, a bit humid, partly sunny/cloudy, possible boomers in a bit, not as bad as yesterday. Well I looked yesterday and I had developed an infection around one of the stitches in my knee, got home from the club, cleaned it put a bit of Neosporin and a bandaid on it, did that a couple more times. This morning when I got up it was worse, when we got home from Church I called the Doctors office, have an antibiotic now and tomorrow morning I'll call the office and tell them I'm on my way in, if it isn't one thing it's another. The knee feels good and I'm sure this infection will be cleared up in short order, I'm hoping to put the boat in the water maybe Friday. Ribs in the smoker today!!! ;D :) :) ;D
Bud, nice, you've tricked Mrs. Bud into putting fishing on the Honeydo list!!! ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ You'll have to tell us how you did it so we could do it also!!!
Donald, sounds like an enjoyable day yesterday!!! I'm sitting enjoying the air conditioning. "Hots On the Deck" was great as usual, ribs in the smoker today and probably a movie or Downton Abbey for desert. This infection won't set me back, all over it like white on rice, I want to go fishing.
Have a great rest of the day guys!!!

Oldfart.  I don't have to trick her to go fishing.  She and I have been fishing together for over 50 years.  She is clearly an outdoor person and truly loves being out on the boat with a fishing rod in her hand.  We have taken many a fishing vacation through our years and it is usually her that is always needing one more cast.

Now that the boat has been re done and the motor seems to be in good shape her demands to go fishing have increased.  Heck, we even went to Santee for our 50th anniversary.  To her that is the way to celebrate the anniversary.  I guess I am lucky in that regard.  I guess it is unusual at our age to still enjoy being on the water together.  I guess the trick was to marry a hillbilly woman.

Oldfart9999

HAPPY HAPPY MONDAY!!! 67 headed to low to mid 70s, cloudy, possible showers, wish I could float the boat, should be a great day on the water, topwater all day. Off to the Doctors office sometime today, the knee feels good, just the one spot, should be cleared up in a couple of days.
Bud, what I said was tongue in cheek, I meant no offense. I wish my wife would fish with me, she doesn't even want to go in the boat. It took me 20 + years to talk her into trying primitive camping, I cooked the meals, cleaned the dishes, dug the slit trench, she found out she loved it. Thanks to joint issues we haven't been able to go for a few years but hope springs eternal. You are a very fortunate man.
Donald, you expect to have the school done by the end of the week, that has to be sometime of record, you and the crew are doing a great job for sure.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Rodney, no problems here.  I did not take your comment in a negative way at all.

Good late afternoon from Central Texas  ;)

Another smoker here in Central Texas today  ~sweat     Local temp presently 97dgrs with the heat index temp feels like 103dgrs  :o    The humidity is 68%.  We got some isolated showers moving through Central Texas heading east.

The team finished up cleaning the furniture for the last 7 rooms.  They took a 30 minute break afterwards I had them go and bring down everything in in their custodian closet.  I have all their stuff separated by type laid out on the cafeteria tables.  Tomorrow after they get the wax put down they start cleaning their equipment.  I'm going to move my office furniture out so they can strip and wax it also.

Rodney; Hope your doctor's appointment went well for ya.  I've been wanting to get out after work and fish but I'm not into fishing in these 100dgr (+) temps  ???    Yes sir my goal is to be done with the inside of the school by the 26th of July.  I told the Principal he could have the school back on the 31st of July.

I don't know what the record is as far as getting a school ready.  Every year I have less and less time to get things done.  Once we get done with the waxing they'll go back and dust everything down one more time.  The teacher are due back on the 1st of Aug to start setting up their classrooms.

Bud; You got the Ranger sitting in the drive way getting charged up ?  You and the wife enjoy the day on the water.

Alrighty to everyone have a relaxing evening and a Blessed Day tomorrow.

Good morning UBers!!! 63 headed to mid to upper 70s, partly cloudy/sunny, another nice day. The Doctor says the infection is looking good, keep taking the antibiotics, he said the tear was bad and he'll show me the pictures at my follow up next Monday. I got the spot to finslly start draining this morning, a day or 2 it'll be cleared up. I think the boat will hit the water this week, just need to figure out which day, I'll take it easy on the knee but I want to fish.
Bud, I wouldn't call your wife a hillbilly, I'd say she has a very refined taste in what's beautiful, what God has made outshines anything man can make. I enjoy art and music but haven't found anything that can match the woods, trees, mountains, rivers, lakes and streams, no music can match the trill of the loon or or the sounds of other wild creatures or the wind rustling through the trees.
Stren, SHC and the rest of youse guys, how you be?
Donald, I don't blame you for not wanting to fish in the heat, it's one of the reasons why I don't fish past noon, the other is the nut jobs are all up and starting to hit the water. Hope you guys get a break in the heat soon.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Rodney, In our world Hillbilly is not a derogatory term.  Mountain folks are very proud of their heritage.  Only the yankees among us think it is a nasty thing to say.

Bud Kennedy

The current heatwave breaks tonight.  A frontal system marching in from the NW will bring cooler temps and much lower humidity.  Long range forecasts indicate we will have at least a week of more normal temperatures.   Severe thunderstorms heading in this afternoon will kick off the entire change.  A small tropical storm is heading up the coast and will brush past Myrtle Beach well off shore but will bring some much needed rain overnight and into tomorrow.

We decided to not go fishing this morning and did not bring the boat back from storage.  We have a busy medical schedule the rest of the week so it looks like next Monday and Tuesday will be the next likely fishing days.  Of course all of this can change depending upon the weather.

Stren_g

Mornin UB, I made it out for a while saturday and managed to land a few green fish. Nothing big, but no skunks either. We had a cold front move through, We went from a 112* heat index to a real feel of about 70* from Friday to Sunday. This week is back to sunshine, and hopefully no rain for a while. I'd like the water to clear up just a little bit.
Rodney get on out there and catch a few!
Bud enjoy that "normal" weather. It's been a strange year weatherwise...
Ya'll have a good day!

Good afternoon from Belton, Texas  8)

We've had scattered clouds with lots of sun shining through out Central Texas  ~sun  Our forecasted temps for today were 66 / 90dgrs with 42% humidity.  It wasn't too bad of a day here  ~shade  The rest of the week is looking really good weather wise.

We're done waxing the team finished up getting the first floor and East hallway done.  They knocked out my office also. ~c~  Tomorrow we'll get the Common Area furniture set back up on the first floor; I'll get my office furniture moved back in and set it back up.  We'll get everyone together and get our cleaning supply equipment cleaned up and divided back up. I found a couple places that we're going to have to touch up.  Our visitors last week scuffed up the floor and left something wet that left a stain on the floor.  It shouldn't be that hard to correct.

Thursday I'll bring in my power washer and clean all the lower windows and doors.  Friday will be an easy day to start the weekend off right.

Stren; Congrats on the catching this pass weekend  ~c~  I wish we'd get a cold front to move through Central Texas ???  With the Heat Index its been over a 100 (+) dgrs everyday these past few weeks.  Enjoy this cooler weather and tight lines on your next trip out.

Bud; Glad to hear you're finally getting some cooler weather down in your parts  ~shade  Hope all your medical visits go well for youns and there's no surprises being found out.

Rodney;  Tks for the update on your knee.  That's good news that the infection is looking better.  Tights lines on your next trip out also.

To everyone have a relaxing evening.  I hope tomorrow brings a better day for everybody.

HAPPY HAPPY HUMP DAY!!! 67 was 57 when I got up 57, headed to mid upper 70s, sunny, breeze, nice day.
We're taking off for 3 days Monday so I had to drop the truck off for the ball joints, probably won't be done til tomorrow, I hope, I'd like to go fishing Friday or it won't be until the following Friday.
Bud, hope you can get out, I'm all to familiar with not being able to hit the water. So far this summer has been cooler, at least for now, only 3 days of 90 or more, it's been a wet spring and summer so far, it's more green than normal, at least the cotton wood was kept to a mininum by the rain.if not joint problems then weather makes being in the boat tough, hope it changes soon.
Stren, good job on the catching. Trust me, I'm trying to get out, it'll happen , the sooner the better.
Donald, sounds like Friday should be hots and brats, a long lunch and go home early, I know it won't happen but it's a nice dream. Sounds like the weather may be starting to cooperate a bit so you can get out, hope so.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Howdy from Belton, Texas  ;)

Blue Bird Skies with the forecasted temps of 65 / 91dgrs with 31% humidity across Central Texas today  ~sun  We had a front move into the area and our temps are lot cooler than they have been  ~c~  The next few days ahead are looking pretty good also.

We're finishing up tomorrow with power washing all the lower exterior windows and door frames.  I'm bringing in my power washer and we'll make short order of that task.  While at it tomorrow we're going to power wash our custodian carts.  They get pretty nasty and the wheels can leave black marks on the floors if they're not clean regularly.

I found (3) wasp nest I'll have to take care of tomorrow also while power washing.

Rodney;  Good luck getting your truck fix.  Sounds like a good days work getting that task accomplished.  So how's the knee doing today?  Much better I hope.  I'm buying lunch for my Team on Friday.  We're having an extended lunch there at work.  I'm bringing in (5) Large Papa Johns Pizzas.  The ladies are going to be bringing side dishes and some salads.   This Friday will be an easy day at work for sure.

I'm going to charge up the batteries on the G3 Thursday Night.  We'll wait and see what the weather forecast is before driving over to Nolan Lake after work on Friday.  I need to bring the Stratos into the garage and de-wire the Dash mount Hook 7.  I notice the past couple times out the dash mount unit after 30minutes or so the screen gets dark.  I shut it off and turn it back on and everything is ok.  Again after 30minutes or so it the screen gets dimmer.  I can still see everything but its not in color etc.  Its presently wired into the fuse panel.  I'm going to run it directly to the battery and see if they takes care of the issue.

I talked to a friend at church he's got a BassCat with Humminbird electronics.  He mentioned he had the same type of issue.  He rewired his directly to his batteries and that cleared up the issue.  I hope this does the trick.  More to follow when I get the job done.

Alrighty guys and to everyone else have a great day tomorrow.  Be safe in your travels.

Good afternoon!!! 80, was 57 when I got up, sunny, a slight breeze. I had to take my wife to work so I could do the shopping, got that done, had lunch and got the call the truck is ready. I walked up to pick it up, brought it home, hooked up the boat so I don't have to do it in the am, I'm ready!!! ;D :) The knee is doing well.
Y'all kind of quiet, hope everybody is fine!!!
Donald, sounds like the school is well at hand, I'm sure everybody will enjoy an easy day with lunch and other goodies for their hard work. Gee, it would be a shame if one of the delinquents got stung by a wasp, only problem is it would be one of the good kids.

Afternoon ya'll, been a busy day a work today. Itchin for some bassin, good thing the weekend is almost here! Hopefully I can get some water time in between the "to do" list. I may start laying new floor in our kids play room, we'll see.
Don do you have a thread on your G3? I'd be curious about the details, and how it works for ya.
Rodney, I work on a computer mostly all day and have been so busy today that I haven't been able to peek at the UB page. Whats your home lake? Tight lines to ya!!!

Greetings to all  8)

Bright sunny skies covered Central Texas today  ~sun  Our forecasted temps forecasted were 63 / 90dgrs with 37% humidity.

My Team and I spent the entire morning working outside.  We power washed and cleaned all the lower level windows, doors and door frames.  I took out 10 or so Wasp Nest this morning prior to firing up the pwr washer.  We cleaned all of the exterior door mats, custodian carts, all of the mop buckets and wringers.
Tomorrow we'll get the custodian closets cleaned out and restock all the supplies.  Once that's completed Summer Cleaning 2019 will be history  ~shade  My team will receive their new assigned areas tomorrow and I'll spend the next few days making new assignment maps and updating our bulletin boards.

Stren; Sounds as if you got some serious Honey Do's coming up in the near future  ~read    What kind of details are you curious about reference the G3?  Here a link to the G3 Boats for the Spec's of it.

I'm still kicking! I stop in to read and see what's going on. I'm just so busy these days herding turds and not fishing.
I can tell y'all all about the stuff I find, but have no fishing tales to share.
Yesterday I pulled approximately 75 gallons worth of used cooking grease from a sewer station.
When people pour hot grease down the drain, it solidifies in the sewer system and looks like floating white rocks.
I got some "contractor cleanup bags", basically super duper heavy extra duty garbage bags.
5 five gallon buckets per bag. No idea of the poundage, but each one was almost more than I can lift. It filled each bag less than halfway.

There are two grease logs in that same lift station that I can't get out. One is about 1.5' diameter and about 3.5' long, the other looks like a small iceberg, about 2' diamter misshapen ball.

Beautiful day here at the beach.  Big doins' around here is the sea turtle hatch.  There is a very large number of nests all along the Grand Strand and now they are hatching and heading into the ocean.  Quite a thing to see at Dawn.  I always wonder how many of these little guys survive.  This has been a big year for the hatch with hundreds and hundreds of these litte guys heading for the water.

Finished mowing lawn #2 this morning.  The neighbors yard guy returns next week so this should be my last time to mow the neighbors property.  Our neighbor passed away a few weeks ago and her daughters have taken her remains to New York for a final service.  She will be buried there.  Ethyl was 96 and just about as good a neighbor for the past 13 years that you would want.  We certainly miss her.

The Mrs has finally decided on her flooring choices.  She is going with carpet in the living room and vinyl wood in the master bedroom.  We finally found the color of wood flooring she wanted.  They are coming to measure on Monday and provide a quote to have this done.

The Expedition goes into the detail shop on Thursday August 1 for a complete Exterior and Interior detail job.  It sure needs it thats for sure.  The wife is gonna have her monte carlo done after the truck is finished but her car only needs the exterior spruced up.

Looks like my only day for fishing next week will be Tuesday and perhaps Wednesday then the hot weather will be returning.  Everyone have a great weekend.  I hope you weekend warriors can get out on the water and catch a few.

SteelHorseCowboy

Man, if I took my car into a detail shop, they'd probably just say "Nope".
I washed it a few months ago, only because I was using it for work while my work truck was broken down and ended up doing some mud riding in it. Yes, I will hit a mudhole in my front wheel drive four cylinder mid size car just as quick as I would with any 4X4. I've never gotten stuck.
Anyhoo... I had as much mud caked on it as any mud digging redneck's truck around this small town. Only place not covered was where the wipers knocked enough off the windshield for me to see where I was going.
I decided the next day that it just presents a poor image to the public, so I gave it a bath.

But I can't remember the last time the interior was cleaned. Some time before I stopped giving a damn obviously. I do declutter it though.

Due to the retirement of my long term doctor, I had an appointment with today with the new doctor.  All is still well and that is a good thing.  BP is 110/68, Weight continues to go down.  I have lost a total of 60lb since my retiement 12 years ago.  Heart rate is good, everything else is on the numbers and right where it has been for many years.  All in all, it is always good to be doing ok for an old geezer.  Next Check up in 6 months.

The Mrs. had her check up on Wednesday and her numbers were good too.  She still has fibromyalgia and experiences significant back pain and hip pain.  All in all just about as good as can be expected at this time.  Spring and Fall are here tough times for some reason.  Hopefully she can remain stable through September and October.  Just a little hit and miss right now.  She was also happy that her weight was down as well as she is not beginning a weight loss effort.  This can be hard to do at our age and really hard for her with her physical limitations.

Oldfart9999

Good morning and Happy Saturday. 63 when I got up headed to mid 80s, sunny, another nice day. "Hots On the Deck" day. :) ;D Hit Honeoye Lake yesterday, tough but I managed a few, I'll be reporting on it in "One Rod Challenge Part Deux".
SHC, you sure have a crappy job(pun intended), that's a lot of grease, isn't it illegal to dump the grease from restaurants? You need to go fishing!!!
Bud, good checkup for you, for BP is about the same as mine, the rest of my numbers I have to work to maintain, be a diabetic requires work along with a few meds. I hope they can find something help with Mrs. Bud's pain, it's no fun living with it. She'll be in our daily prayers.
Stren, hope you're wetting a line!!!
Donald, good deal having the cleaning done, time for fishing!!!
Have a great weekend, be well!!!
