Greetings to everyone  8)

July is here well in (3) days.  I'm posting this prior to getting on a plane and flying to Alaska to visit my Grandkids  ;)   I'll be off site 29 Jun - 7 Jul 19.  I'll be dealing with my 3yr old grandson and 6 yrs old granddaughter up in Anchorage, AK ~c~ :)

To everyone prayers send for all those that are having health issues.  Hopefully all those aches and pains will be a lot better than previously.  To those out traveling have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Tight lines to those hitting the waters and here's to a New Personal Best if it occurs  ;PHO)  ~beer~ ;PEP) ~c~

Enjoy the 4th of July activities and the family time together  ~shade

Happy Monday/ July UB! I was not able to fish this weekend, I had family fly in from AL for a short visit. It was hot anyway, heat advisory with indexes well over 100. Maybe I'll get out this weekend.
Don have a fun and safe trip!!!

HAPPY HAPPY MONDAY!!! 71, sunny, breezy. Not much happening, hopefully I'll hit the water for the challenge, the knee just needs to behave. Hope everybody is well!!!

Finally got to go to the river for a bit this morning.  We did not do any fishing just took the boat for a ride and did a little sonar exploring.  The river today was mirror smooth which is very unusual.  No wind at all and it was low tide when we put in.  Ran about 25 miles south and then ran about 10 miles north of the ramp.  The boat performed well but still seems to have a bit of a problem.

Unlike my test drive of a couple weeks ago where everything was awesome not so much today.  Motor started very easily so that is a good thing but going on plane it still feels like like there is a bit of a restriction somewhere in the fuel system.  Then all of a sudden you feel a bit of a surge in the motor and then the power is back to normal and up on plane as it should be.  Did not have any other issues during the whole trip.  Beats the heck out of me what might be wrong.  I am still suspect of the fuel pump as everything else has been changed out.  Primer bulb was nice and firm and once on plane the performance was as it should be.  No problem at all with the performance it just wasn't as wicked as it was during the test run.

We did no fishing just a boat ride.  Too darn hot and without a breeze fishing would have been very uncomfortable.  Port tank was low on fuel got back on the trailer and went to fuel up.  Went home put the cover on the boat and took her to storage until next week.  It was interesting that we were the only trailer in the parking lot at the ramp.  I am sure it will be a bit more active as the day moves on.  After what was over a 50 mile run we saw only two other boats on the river.  Guess more folks think it is just too darn hot.  Did not even see a jet ski.

Afternoon UB! No excitement today, and that's ok I reckon.
Bud it's nice to just get out sometimes. Bass always makes it better, but still nice to get out!
Ya'll have a good afternoon, and tight lines to those who get out on the water!

Happy hump day to all!!! 68 headed to low to mid 80s, muggy, partly sunny, not a breeze to be found. Not much going on, the knee is sore, the grass is growing and needs mowing, the politicians are still stupid, and I'm going to be sorting gear for the "1 rod" challenge. Ya'll know I questioned Zippy's sanity coming up with the idea but is mine any less suspect for participating? For me it's going to be mostly a soft plastic deal, I'll try a popper, and the Kietechs will be in the boat but I think it'll be jig, worm, soft stick, dropshot deal if I can go. I'll be on one of the smaller Finger Lakes, Honeoye Lake, about 1,772 acres, max depth 30 feet, lots of grass, crappie, bluegill, lots of blue gill, pickerel, perch and walleyealong alewife as primary. It
used to produce quite a few bass in the 4, 5, and 6 lb class but now has an over abundance of small bass, it does produce big bluegill year after year in spite of a lot of pressure. Now if you fish a tournement and weigh in 13 lbs odds are you'll win, 10 lbs will put you in the money most days. I'll be sitting most of the time, about 4 or 5 hours.
Have a great day and a great 4th!!!

Another 100 degree day today.  Thunderstorms now in the area and it has been raining about 2 hours or so.  Decided to mow the lawn before the rain but as soon as I started the sun came out and I had to finish the job in the triple digit heat.  Managed to take the grass clippings to the recycle center and get home before the rains hit.  Temperature dropped from 100 down to 75 where it is currently sitting.  The rain is welcome on the lawn.  Most of the grass has gone dormant but the weeds are still growing and doing well.  If it wasn't for the weeds there would not be too much green in yard.  These darn weeds will grow under any conditions.  More of the same is expected for tomorrow with triple digit heat and then followed by afternoon storms.

This is traditionally the busiest week of the tourist season.  All the hotels are booked and the the beach if full and forget going to a restaurant.  The rest of the summer will also be very busy but this week is always the busiest.  I am just gonna stay here and hide from the horde.

Both pets are a bit upset at the moment because of the thunder but not as bad as they once were.  The cat has visited all three doors to the outside just to be sure if was raining everywhere.  The dog just like to lay down under a lamp table and chill out only taking breaks to torment the cat when ever possible.

Bud Kennedy

the thunder storm pattern continues here at the beach.  It is nice that the temps have cooled off to about 80.  Looks like this pattern will continue for another week if the weather guessers are right.  Nothing else planned for the balance of the weekend just because of all the tourist traffic.  Just gonna stay home and be bored for a little longer.  Still hoping to bring the boat home next week to at lease get out on the river one day.  I don't mind a little rain but unfortunately the storms also have an electrical component.

Have been very worried that we have not heard from Lip.  It has been a long time since his crappie trip.  Just hoping he is ok.  Also still wondering about Joe Scanlon (anal)  I know he has had some medical issues and have been wondering how both these folks are doing.

SteelHorseCowboy

I'm wondering about Lip too. I know he enjoys those crappie trips and takes plenty of time, but it seems like he's been gone for quite a while.

Good morning UBers!!! 72 headed to mid 80s with matching humidity, possible boomers, been this way since the 4th. Well, I had my challenge day, abject failure, yep, my head is hanging below my knees, 2 fish not worth the data space on my camera, I'll post more about it in the proper thread.
I've been worried about Jerry for a while, smalliestalker or Zippy have been in contact with him so he's still with us. I hope it's just a bug or something similar!!!
Hots on the deck day, I do look forward to it, just a nice summer treat. The big lake is still high, I don't know if it's dropped any at all but they've been letting water out at a record rate, the problem is the water is coming in at a record rate, all the lakes above Ontario are or had record flooding and all the water has to go through Ontario to get to the St. Lawrance, it'll probably be fall before levels are "normal", still can't launch my boat alone and the 5 mph limit is still in effect.
Prayers for Lip and Anal, may they come back healthy and ready to go!!!
Bud, are you getting out again soon?
SHC, how you be son? Still busier than than a one legged man at a fire ant convention?
Stern, been able to get out?
Donald, I know you won't see this til you get back but don't forget the pics.
Well, my surgery is scheduled for Friday sometime in the am, looking forward to getting it done and getting back to fishing!!!
Have a great weekend, be well!!!

Doing some chores today.  A quick run down to the farmers market picked up some tomatoes, some cukes and a box of peaches.  Peaches now have been turned into my favorite peach pie that will find it's way to my desert cravings tonight.  House is cleaned and everything has been put away so I am done for the day except for making supper tonight.  The Mrs is all tired out from having to supervise me all day.  This is usually followed by her being upset that she is still unable to help around the house.  Believe me when I say it is easier for me just to do stuff than to watch her struggle just to move around.  I know she feels bad about that because she has always been a worker but those days unfortunately might just be over.  For sure she is not aging easily.  I feel bad for her since for her entire life she has always been a go getter but now just can't physically do it.

Been a hot and humid day with a lot of clouds that will result in thunderstorms this evening.  This weather pattern looks to continue for another week.

HAPPY HAPPY MONDAY!!! You all what works can earn more money for the monkey to spend, good deal for y'all!!! 53 whopping degrees headed mid to upper 70s, sunny, nice day. Only 4 more days and I get my knee done, hopefully I'll put the boat in the water tomorrow, it'll be the last time for at least 2 weeks,  I'm not pushing it, the last thing I want to do is undo the work the Doctor does. Hope you all had a great 4th.

Rodney, I've been running ragged. To go into detail requires a novella.
Trying to train a new guy that's not going to work out.
Work, work, work.
Did spend some time with family and some folks I don't like on the 4th after work. Those two groups don't include the same people by the way.
Worked some more.
Got called out for more work the past three evenings.

There's a live mouse in my garbage can at work, trying to decide wether I should kill it or let it starve but one way or the other it ain't leaving here alive.
Found another dead rat in my toilet at work too, had to toss it out in the woods. I've always kept a plunger and brush next to a toilet, never thought I'd keep a minnow net next to one too. I generally don't RETRIEVE things from the toilet.

Afternoon ya'll, I'm draggin today lol We had a pretty good weekend, I caught a few bass Saturday... nothing huge. Just a few 2 pounders give or take. Yesterday I decided to take my 3 year old on the yak with me. I was a bit nervous at first, but we buttoned him up with a pfd and his trusty green mini rod (almost like an ice fishing rod). I didn't do much fishing, I paddled him around and found a few big bluegill. He caught 6 in about 2 hours that were all around 10". It's funny to see a bluegill pullin drag  lo I'm thinking the channel cats are getting ready to spawn, there were several cruising the shallows kickin up sand and silt. He was adamant that they were baby sharks!  ~roflmao
Rodney we'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers with that knee. Hopefully it'll heal quickly.
SHC maybe toss the mouse into the pond, watch a bass or gator have a snack?
Ya'll have a good day!

Greetings to everyone,

We made it back from our trip to Anchorage Alaska yesterday afternoon.  We had a great visit with our son and his family.  Everyone is doing great and both grandkids are growing like weeds.  We had really nice weather while visiting there were a couple days it was actually hotter up there than down here in Central Texas.  My son surprised me with a Guided Fishing Trip out of Whitter, Alaska on the 3rd of July.

A friend of his has a boat and we fished for halibut > (Zeroed Out) but we caught a mess of Rock Fish.  His friend had some Shrimp Pods set out and we had about 2 - 3 lbs of shrimp from the 3 pods.
While checking the shrimp pods not only did we have shrimp but also a octopus and a star fish in the mix.  The octopus and star fish got thrown back.  The shrimp pods were set in 619 ft. of water.

We had a mixture of weather here today.  It started off sunny but by 4pm we had a thunder storm move through Central Texas cooling things off.  Our forecasted temps were 75 / 98dgrs with 100% humidity.  I felt that humidity real good today while mowing and trimming the yard.

It's back to work tomorrow.  We're going to ease back into this cleaning etc  ~shade  Right now we're 2 weeks ahead of schedule  ;)

Stren; Congrats on the catching there with your son  ~c~

SHC; Feeding those gators with those rats etc ought to be interesting  :-\  You going to train those gators to come up to you for a hand out ~shade

Rodney; Tight lines buddy for ya on the trip Tuesday.  We got you in our daily prayers for the upcoming surgery.

Bud; You sounded busy just like today.  Hey hope the wife gets to feeling better.

Guys here a few pictures from my fishing trip.  You can google Whitter Alaska and there's some information about the town etc. and services provided.

It was a rough ride 45minute ride to our halibut location.  We spent 3 - 4 hours there fishing without any hook up.

Click on the picture to enlarge it.  There's a rock island we fished around in 326ft of water.

After lunch we moved to behind this island and got into some great Rock Fishing.

Mornin UB! Not much to report today...
Don looks like you had a great time! I had a feeling you'd end up on the water some how!  lo Congrats on the catching!

Howdy from Belton Texas  :)

We had clear skies most of the day across Central Texas  ~sun  Our forecasted temps were 76 / 96 dgrs with 54% humidity.  The rest of the week looks bright, sunny with the temps in the mid 90's.

It was back to work today.  We work on some small projects like cleaning the restrooms on the 1st floor, teacher's lounge, mail room and nurse's office.  The floors that got waxed today they'll get checked in the morning.  Those that are dry we'll get those rooms set back up.

Alrighty guys I hope today was a good day for everyone.  Rodney hope the fishing trip was everything you wanted it to be.

Stren; Tks we had a great visit with the son and his family.  The guided fishing trip was a total surprise and it turned out great.

To everyone have a relaxing evening and a enjoyable day tomorrow.

Happy Happy Hump Day!!! 63 headed to 90, sunny, muggy, maybe a breeze later, good day for a low profile in a cool room and maybe a nap.
Made it to the scene of the debacle the last time I went fishing, much better, put 7 in the boat the biggest 5 about 12 lbs. The last tournement the
winning weight was 11 lbs, course if it had been a tournement I wouldn't have caught 12 lbs. lo lo
SHC, seems like everywhere you are is surrounded with wildlife os some sort, outdoors, in the can, as long as it doesn't get you it's all good. lo lo ;)
You sure are putting in a lot of time, you're due for a vacation, maybe next Tuesday morning. lo Too bad you're not being paid what the job is worth.
Hope the newbie works out for you!!!
Stren, a bunch of 2 lbers is better than a zero!!! ;D I know the feeling, there are some big ones in Honeoye but for some reason they are hard to
come by, not many get caught.
Bud, is the boat beening checked out for fuel delivery yet? Hope you can hit the river again soon.
Donald, sounds like a great vacation!!! The fishing trip was a nice surprise and looks to be a lot of fun, good deal!!! The shrimp and rockfish look to
make a tasty meal too!!! 2 weeks ahead at work, great deal, if problems pop up, they're easier to deal with.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Howdy  :)

Whew its smokin here today across Central Texas  ~sweat :surrender:  Our forecasted temps were 77 / 98dgrs with 60% humidity.  With the heat index its 110 dgrs  :shocking: We have a 20% chance of thunder storms later on tonight  ~shade

My supervisor stopped by for a visit this morning. Topic of conversation was me being moved to the new high school when it opens next Aug.  We see what happens next summer.  The team is moving right along just like prior to vacation.  We're going to do some stripping and waxing here tomorrow.  Monday we'll start on the first floor classrooms getting the furniture moved out. If all goes well by next Friday the entire 1st floor will be competed then.

Rodney; Congrats on the catching this time out  ~c~  I'm like you I do well when out fun fishing but come tournament fishing I don't fair as well  :(  Best wishes again and we have you in our daily prayers for the upcoming surgery.

To everyone hope the day was a good one for ya'll.  Be safe in your travels and tight lines while on the water.

Good evening to everyone  8)

Clear skies across most of Central Texas today.  Forecasted temps were 74 / 96dgrs with 52% humidity.
There's not any serious chances of rain today but they mentioned something like 20%.

Another day of getting things done at school.  We stripped and waxed a couple floors today and took it kinda easy.  Tomorrow we'll finish up with the waxing of the areas done today.  We'll stage our equipment for our room clearing of furniture operation that begins on Monday.

Rodney; We have you in our prayers buddy.  Good luck with the surgery tomorrow morning.

To everyone else hope your day went well for ya.  Ya'll have a relaxing evening.

Been a bit under the weather for the past 24 hours.  Feels like some kind of flu bug.  I am still not up to snuff yet so hopefully tomorrow will be better.  It is pretty ugly when you have to stay within quick access to the bathroom facilities.  Can't believe I have been sitting around here today actually wearing a hoodie to stay warm even when the indoor temp is 76-77 degrees.  Obviously not much sleep last night so I am looking forward to hitting the sack fairly soon.  I rarely get anything like this and all I can say is I sure don't like it.  The only way I could get warm this afternoon was to step outside for a few minutes and that sure enough helped for a bit.

SteelHorseCowboy

Friend of mine on facebook shared a post from a friend of his. Someone started a fake GoFundMe page on behalf of her... teeth. She was urging people not to donate because it's fake.

Of course me being the curious fella I am, I'm thinking "Just how bad are her teeth that someone would do such a thing?"
So I looked up her profile pics.

I try to steer clear of being negative about the way other people look. I really do. There are some butt ugly people in this world with hearts of gold, so I try to look past the exterior. I personally have been accused of being butt ugly with no heart at all, but this lady may want to go ahead and get them teeth fixed up at least a little bit. Not just aesthetics, those chompers looked like they could be a health issue.

Anyway. HAPPY FRIDAY Y'ALL!
I actually get another weekend off! Maybe.

Happy Friday folks! I had the day off got a few things done around the house yesterday, and managed to catch a few bass on the Lockett Lures Craw tube. For a first try, I was pleased with them. I did have an odd experience while fishing... I was headed back to my truck when a couple of guys pulled alone side me asking how they were biting. I told them I had caught a few and they kind of lingered then thanked me and parked next to my truck. No biggie. I made a few more pitches and then walked to my truck about 20 yards away. One of the guys made several comments on how "nice" my truck was, and how "nice" my rods/reels were. Then he got extremely close into my personal space. Asked me how to set his up, but the guy was right on top of me. Still commenting on how nice my rods and tuck were. What made it more weird was that neither him nor the other guy would make eye contact, and they were looking "around" a lot. I left without a problem, but I had a really bad gut feeling about these two folks. Normally I have good interactions when I meet other people on the water, something was off with these two. Ya'll ever had that happen while fishing?
