I finally had a chance to try out our new pressure cooker.  I have never tried to use anything like this before but today was my day to try.  Started with a 3.0 lb roast.  I have a 2 qt pressure cooker so I could not do the entire roast.  I decided to cook half in the pressure cooker and half in a crock pot just to see how they turned out.

I pressure cooked the roast for 2 hours under pressure and the results were fabulous.  The meet was super tender and very hot through the entire roast.  We taste tested and could not be more pleased.  The other half is still in the slow cooker and should be ready in a little over an hour from now.  So after 4 hours the roast looks good but not quite as tender as the pressure cooked variety.

I think from what I can tell the pressure cooker is the way to go for this kind of stuff.  The fact the it cooked in half the time is also a huge plus

Since we only taste tested the first roast the main event will happen tonight for Supper.  Doing some oven browned potato sections and topping it off with some fresh corn, tomato slices, cukes, and a bit of beef gravy.  Should be quite a feast.

Instant Pot. Seems is the new rage. I have friends who say a 2 to 2.5lb roast is ready in 30 minutes or less and is so tender and juicy you would think grandma spend all day making it. I actually was going to get one as soon as I catch one on sale. With no wife, no grandma, and a aging mom who is 2 hrs away I like the idea of put it in turn it on and when I get in from work eat.  ;)
