I got a little bit of time to get out last night and wet a line, so I made the drive up to Oneida Reservoir in hopes of filling my limit for iBass. Needless to say, mission successful.

Air: High 50's
Wind: Fairly calm
Forecast: Cloudy
Water Clarity: ~ 1 foot

I got to the lake with only about an hour to fish and I started on the bank opposite of the main road. I found a little opening with a parking area nearby and I saw a small bass cruising the bank as I approached the shoreline. Always a good sign. I brought two jigs with me for this trip (I pack light when bank fishing). A bluegill colored 1/4oz. swimjig and a green pumpkin 5/16oz. ballhead jig. I tied the swimjig on first and I made 4 fan casts in this little area to start with no luck. My fifth cast I casted out and let my jig sink to the bottom. Once it rested on the bottom, I made one drag and immediately felt a bump. I was rewarded with my first fish on the night and this gave me a hint that the fish might want it slow and on the bottom.

Knowing I was short on time and wanting to cover more water, I moved to the opposite bank along the main road. Since I wanted to fish the bottom better, I switched to the ballhead jig instead. Following that same pattern, I swam my jig around until I got bit and then I would drag it through the areas where I got bit. I ended up catching 4 fish total in my hour of fishing using this method and it was very successful for these fish that were on beds.

All in all, a good evening on the water. I wish I had more time to fish because I think I had them pretty well figured out.

Great Job! I completely missed the spawn down here, but glad you got some water time in!
