Boy oh boy what a day! I had planned on fishing the Potomac this weekend but with a dicey forecast I decided to stay close to home and fish the gorge. Luckily the forecasted rain stayed away and presented an awesome overcast day with no wind and prime air temps.

We got on the water around 7:30 and immediately went to the clearest water we could find. Water temps were at 63* and rose to 68* as the day progressed. Cycled through baits without much action until around 10 o clock when I lost a nice fish at the boat with a finesse presentation. After that, we finesse fished all day long. The action was non stop. Throwing to shallow cover got bites almost every other cast. Average fish was 1.5-2lbs, with a few 3s mixed in. We saw, but couldn't get, a few heavy females to play so we moved on.

To my surprise we also caught a few 14.5" black crappie on senkos lol (.5" shy of citation). We threw them on the stringer for dinner as well as a few smaller ones to make it worth the while.
In all it was one of my best days on the gorge in a long time. Hoping to get out there quite a bit in the next few weeks to take advantage of the hot bite!

Here's a few pics!

You da man.  Wish I had hair like your 3rd photo.  I'd be rich, smart, and good looking.  Now only 2/3.
