Ok for all you guys that carry.  Do you perfer IWB or OWB?

Either way what brand do you own and recommend?

I've personally had both and multiple companies!  My favorite style is OWB as having a gut and adding extra room in my pants can be hard sometimes lo

My favorite holster I have owned as far as price and quality was an AlienGear when they were affordable.  Now they seem to have added a million things to their site and holsters.

I have had Bravo Concealment catch my eyes for my next holster.  Their 3.0 holsters look amazing

Depends on what, where, and why I'm carrying. In the woods for protection against critters, 44 magnum with a homemade holster and gunbelt.
I have 3 guns I'll carry IWB in and around town, not all at once of course. My regular daily carry is a compact 9mm for near to home and casual "out and about" carry. If I'm going a bit further from home or need to visit somewhat shadier neighborhoods for whatever reason, I have a full sized 9mm (FNS 9) with 17 round mag capacity and two spare mags. This is also the gun I carry when I'm out on a road trip or away from home over night, with the compact packed away as a spare.
My third is a 9mm 1911. I don't carry it yet. I just got a holster for it a few days ago and only have 10 rounds down the pipe with it. I insist on running a few hundred assorted rounds through a gun before I trust it for carry.

For info, I don't go visiting shady neighborhoods just for the hell of it. I have some family and friends that live in such areas, and sometimes work obligations send me to shady areas. My first line of defense is to AVOID confrontation first and always. It hasn't been my job to go looking for a fight for about 13 years now. You'll never see me in a rough neighborhood for no good reason.

I have Sticky Holsters for all three 9mm's, and a OWB holster for the FNS 9, can't remember who it's made by but I rarely use it because I don't like it. The gun sticks out too far and it's a slip on that doesn't offer much support, holster and gun flop around.
The Sticky Holsters have a grippy outer material and simply tuck into your waistband or pocket, and they can be found for about half the price of "Big Brand" equivalents. Been using those for about 3 years now and have no complaints. They also make mag pouches.

Crossfire makes a decent IWB holster that has a belt clip. They hold the weapon pretty securely with a slight cant, but feel a bit bulky until they're broken in.

Some nice leather OWB holsters can be found in the Tagua lineup. A brazilian company I believe, and they make many styles at different retention levels.

Thanks for the reply SHC!

You have a nice system set up it looks like.  I agree on having plenty of rounds down the barrel of a carry weapon.  Although personally I would trust a brand new glock just from my experiences.  Other than that I would want rounds down range forsure!

I have seen the sticky holster but never bought one nor used one.

There are so many different holster companies esp since kydex got popular lo

I use both inside and outside the belt holsters or my jacket pocket depending on what I'm wearing. A Walther PPK .380 will easily fit into a dress jacket. My Kimber Ultras use Crossbreed  or Alien Gear holsters for inside carry. My .45 snake gun for fishing uses a cheap Uncle Mike outside the belt holster. My work full sized 1911s use a double shoulder holster.

I prefer tuckable IWB holsters and for years I've been loyal to the Crossbreed SuperTuck in horsehide. They are without a doubt the most comfortable holsters I've ever used. The dual belt clips make require a little extra time to attach and position but, it is worth the extra minute. With a tucked in shirt, it's invisible. Horsehide adds $15-20 to the price of the holster but, it's 10x more comfortable and body sweat will never leach through to your weapon.

I've also become very fond of the N82 Tactical Professional. It's nearly as comfortable as the Crossbreed in horsehide, has an added retention feature that requires a slight twist to release during the draw. What I like most about the N82 TP is the ability to put it on and remove it easily. If in the course of your day you need to disarm occasionally, the single belt clip on the outside of the holster makes it very easy to put on and take off.

I also recommend a high quality gun belt. I use BigFoot gun belts. Very happy with them.

Completely forgot about N82!  Thanks for the reminder.

I agree 100% a QUALITY gun belt makes a huge difference in carrying

About the only belts I wear anymore. More durable, don't show signs of wear, and keep their shape. I'm not real fond of the N82 elastic holsters because due to re-holstering issues but, the molded kydex and polymer holsters are quite nice. They're not stiff, have a suede back, a moisture barrier, and and good retention. I like the polymer a lot better than kydex.

Another good thing I can say for both Crossbreed and N82 is that they honor their lifetime warranties without any gotchas. My oldest Supertuck was more than 13 years old. I cracked the kydex rolling around on the floor with it empty. Crossbreed replaced it without any questions. My only issue with my N82 Tac Pro is that the single belt clip can snag and crack on a chair arm or door frame. Particularly when shirt is not tucked. I emailed N82 about getting a replacement and they shipped out two replacements the same day along with a metal version to try, all free of charge. After trying the metal, I switched back to the plastic and haven't had a problem since.

That's good to see companies standing behind warranties they offer!  Taurus has been like that the couple times I had to send in weapons.  Not something you see very often these days

I've tried a few but still prefer my now older Alien Gear IWB and Springfield XD-SC for my everyday carry

I too really liked the original Alien Gear or older you can say.  This newer stuff (I have not had any hands on) but just looks like its to much

Got my bravo concealment holster in Saturday.  This is the IWB as they are still finishing up the OWB holster I want with paddle attachments.

I've used both in and out style of carry. For everyday use I mostly will have a Forbus Paddle Holster with a .380 compact in it. Completely disappears and you'd never know it was there.

2nd Favorite is also a Forbus Paddle with a Tarus 709 Slim in 9mm Also hides very easy and is comfortable.

In the Woods usually its another Forbus Paddle with a Glock 23 .40.

As you can see I really like the Forbus and here Printing is not an issue, should it happen. Fl passed a rule that "occasional" printing or shirt blow up and reveal are not breaking the law nor do they count as brandishing your weapon.

Inside I'd say the Crossbreed in Horsehide is my favorite, although the simple Uncle Mikes Soft Inside the Pants with the Clip works very well and easy to use.

Every Body Type is different and you must find what works best for you.

When I shot IDPA comps I had a Fobus paddle holster for my Glock 19 and agree it was SUPER comfortable!  Great holster and durable.

I agree 100% that with different body types you have to find what your comfortable with
