I just found out yesterday that the Log-A-Load tournament on Escambia R. is this coming weekend. I have a potential partner but its not likely since he'll probably be going out of town. I am in need of a Partner who can catch fish :) Its a 150.00 entry I think (per boat). First thru third payout is $5,000, $2,000, $1,000 etc... They pay quite a few places. Interested drop me an email to or call 240-7296 after 4pm. Since I'm not preregistered like I used to always be it means getting to the ramp about 1am to try getting a reasonable starting position. This event has been 100+ in entries in the past, so earlier is better. I'll sleep in the truck :)

I've fished this one before and really enjoyed it.  They have a lot of great raffle drawing items after the tournament and it's for a good cause.  Unfortunately, I'll be heading to Eufaula Wednesday and, if I'm lucky, wont be back till Saturday night.  Hope you can find someone to fish with you.

what type of format would we be fishing. best five or ten fish

I really don't remember, and didn't read the flyer like I meant to before I left the ramp  ??? I don't think it's five... but I want to say its also less than ten per boat. I keyed on the date mostly, thinking its kinda funny its next weekend and I picked this Sunday to go over there for the first time in 3 1/2 years :) The absence didn't hurt none too much since I still caught a lot of keepers - a good number in a place most pass up :) But, it is one of our wonderful rivers and we all know how tempermental they can be from hour to hour, let alone a full week :) I've fished this tournament several times in the past, its for a great cause and probably is the biggest bass tournament in the panhandle.

How did the Log-A-Load tournament go?  I'd really like to have fished that one but I was in Eufaula learning a lesson (as a non-boater it's all about the pairing).  Did get to meet a lot of people and see how the big-guys do it.  Not sure if I'd do it again though.

I had four keepers in the boat out of a seven fish limit (which I let go at the ramp for a score of 0). Was no way I was close to being it the top 15. May have fared much better (maybe even into the money) if I had a partner who could actually catch fish. My partner caught logs, stumps, misc. stuff but not a single fish of any kind all day. I caught a lot of short fish along with the 4 keepers. In the old days we would consistantly be a top five team always in contention for the win, with a regular partner who fished most team events with me; Nowadays its... well, I'll just leave it at "not quite so good". Hope ya'll tore 'em up at Millers Ferry. Wish I had been able to go. Gonna take my son up to Frank Jackson tomorrow and now I'm off to the race track....
