Spectra Extreme braid

Found this amongst my nightly ebay browsing quite a bit ago. It was $21 for 1000m of 30lb (2.5PE, or 0.010in). Which to a mono diameter is around the 6lb mark. This line is just that, spectra braid. Pretty basic, without a ton of waxy coating. I have always said, just look for lines that say Spectra or Dyneema.

I have been trying the straight from the source braid for light frogging. Spooled on my Curado50E, and used for tossing Booyah Pad Crusher Jr frogs. This braid has held up exceptionally well. Its been tossed all day, without retying, and on instances where its been battling through quite a bit of vegetation. Not had a single breakoff. In fact, when I thought at certain times the line was sure to break, it didnt.

I would strongly recommend the budgeted angler to grab some and try it. I mean, where else are you gonna get almost 1,100yds of braid for $21?

Braid can be pricer compared to other lines, but you are saving money in the long run. A spooled reel of braid can/will last more than year or two. So a  basically one  spool of braid can last you for years!!

Been using it for years... have not had any problems with it.

Good thing about braid is after you use it, pull it all off and spool the used end on first. Now you get twice the life out of it.

I prefer a 4 carrier myself. If I use a 8 carrier, its gonna be J Braid.

when you figure out how long it lasts, it is actually cheaper to fish with.  especially if you throw floro.

It's all I use except on my little Zebco.

Bankbeater, I personally prefer 8 carrier braid only because of the noise that 4 carrier makes, but I've really come to like classic Power Pro.

If you pay attention to eBay, I bought 3000 yards of Power Pro 40 for right around $100 ship to my door. That's a great deal!

This braid works fine. I have a spool of it. It's a basic braid and it gets the job done.
