Launched from the State Park approximately 08:00. Mostly clear sky and a very light breeze. Stayed mainly in the area between the dam and  the State park. Water visibility was about 2-3 feet and stained with a surface temp that started out at 36 and reached 38 by 1:00 pm. Still lots of debris including full length tree trunks floating just below the surface and a little ice in some of the coves.

Found what I believe was Stripers in a couple areas 20-25' down. Also found a few what could have been Bass at the same depths. Dropshot, spoon, and blade all failed to get any attention.

Thanks for the report Jim and glad you didn't run into any of them floaters out there.  :surrender: Sorry you didn't catch any fish but at least you had some soft water.  :)

Most who spend any time on Claytor know how bad it can be. Those who aren't familiar with it are at big risk. I saw tree trunks nearly as long as my boat and a good 15" in diameter with maybe an inch of bark above the surface. It's pretty common after a lot of rain. In addition to the timber, it's common to see propane tanks, vehicle tires on wheels, and buckets among other less damaging debris.
