The 2019 UBCS will take place on 13-14 April at Caney Lake (Jimmie Davis State park).  The cost is $45 per person and Fridays meal will be furnished.  The tournament rules will be posted at a later time.  Jimmie Davis State park has cabins available that sleep up to 8 persons, as well as camp sites for those that want to bring their own accommodations.  Contact your respective club officers, Steve Reneau or Myself if you have any questions and to get signed up."

As of this morning there were still 8 cabins available. Easiest way to book is online. Just search Jimmy Davis State Park and click reserve on line. It will take you the Reserve America site.

This will be my last UBCS, so I'll be there. I was kinda hoping for one more round at Toledo Bend, but if Caney is what everyone voted for, then Caney I will fish.

Great lake, caught several 8+, but have not fished since they took off slot

Just to put it out there...

Cabins sleep 8. One Queen bed in a room. Two bunk beds in another room and a fold out sofa sleeper. The Cabins are $150 a night weekends are $175. To stay from Thursday to check out Sunday morning is $500 plus tax. So it's wise to put as many as you can in each Cabin.

We have four in ours and could use two more :surrender:

D and I drove over yesterday and had a look around and picked our camp spot.

Pavilions 1/2/3 are all no drinking, there are several "No Liquor Beyond this Point" posted around that area. #1 has no parking for boats and very limited for cars/trucks #2 has decent parking but the walk to release the fish is stupid far. #3 limited parking but you could park by #2 now the walk carrying fish is going to be a hike but the walk to let them go be to bad.  Recommend we do the weighin at the boat launch.

Boat launch by the camping spots/cabins is a little smaller then the main one and the tar isn't marked so parking could be a challenge.  Main launch IMHO is the better of the two both have a pottajohn and both Fish cleaning station look to be the same size but the main launch as I said has the parking spots lined out.

As far as where to hold the eat and meet and stuff IDK maybe some of the cabins would work but everyone will need to bring their own chairs/tables because there isn't anyplace outside to hang out and the parking is going to be tight as hell with all the boats.

Also there are no parking on the grass signs all over the park and they have a boat parking lot but that well away from everyone,,,,, not sure how the Rangers are going to be with us parking our vehicles and boats close by so we can pug them in.  If people think before just parking however there should be room but if folks just park 1st come first serve some folks are going to be a aways from their cabin.

10 days out before we leave and head North for the UBCS. I've been needing a little vacation so I can't wait to get there. Hopefully we will have some nice weather and fish will be biting.

I'm so with you, I don't care if the fish are biting as long as the Lock Jaw crew shows so I have something to laugh at...  ~roflmao ~roflmao ~roflmao
