Are you using this with or without a snap?

I personally don't use snaps for anything.

And this is a powerful, big bass catching bait & technique that is utilized in HEAVY cover. With HEAVY line. I don't think a snap will stand up to this.

Forgive me if it's been mentioned. On my phone and I detest reading a lot on it but regarding trailers, the best i've ever seen for a silver minnow is a rabbit strip. I've got 3 afixed to the lures. White, chart. and black. As said previously, the action is amazing.

As much as I love using rabbit strips on hair jigs & flies for bass, that's something even I haven't done!  :-*

Are you tying it on or putting it on like a pork or plastic trailer?

Wrapping it with braid and nail hardener on the hook next to the spoon.

I've had at least 1 of these in my box for many years, the 1 I have now is gold, and I still pull it out once in awhile (usually when slow- hunting).
As stated, they are bullets, and I've caught decent bass, and big pickerel on them.
