The Guntersville Rally has always been something very special.  Not so much because of the fishing, although it is great also.  The real thing is the connection with friends that you may have never met.  It always amazed me how a group of anglers can be together for a few days and become blood brothers so quickly.  It is a connection like no other.

There is something at the rally for everyone.  Even us old guys have a nice time even though we may not be as rowdy as the younger crowd.  Lots of fishing, Lots of eating, lots of drinking both  hard or soft or store bought or homemade.  It is totally up to you how you participate.  Like others have said you actually have to attend to fully understand and appreciate just how special these events truly are.  Be prepared to laugh a lot and or shake your head in total dis belief of some of the happenings.

Once you attend you will understand why this annual fall pilgrimage certainly will compel you to attend each year thereafter.

Don't let Bud fool you all!! He's the damn ring leader. I seen him practically buy out a liquor store in Georgia. I was afraid!!!

I have so many of you to meet for the first time. And to revisit with Mike, Laurie, and Jim. The front porch conversations are what I am looking forward to the most. And another fishing trip with a good friend is always on my list of things to do.

FJ,
I don't believe DW is going to make it.

I am looking forward to coming and meeting everyone too.  Wish more could have made it as well, but I understand, having had to cancel the past couple years.  Need to start getting my gear together and get supplies together!

What time will the cabin be open?  I am only 3 hours away and am pretty free after drop my kids off at school at 7:30

I was getting my stuff together and making a list and realized I forgot about a fishing license!  Don't forget yours for us traveling out of state!

Yeah. That would have been good. A Mexican fishing with no license in Alabama. It's got "deport" written all over it. Lol

Fyi to everyone: 7 day Non-Resident Freshwater fishing license fee: $29.95

Capt. BassinLou

Just purchased mine. FL Residents have to pay $34 for a 7 day NR Alabama Freshwater Fishing License.

TNDiver thanks again for posting that information.  ~beer~

Remember also that if you plan to run up into Tennessee you will need a license for there too. We ran into that scenario a few years back.
