A wildlife biologist there responded to the thread and said the fisheries division had sent folks out to collect samples of water and fish. Their initial response was that it appeared to be a drop in oxygen levels and they will report if otherwise.


If it was just a drop in oxygen level, it shouldn't have any long term effect on the area.

Sorry John, Both Terry and I are taking a pass for this year.  We are gonna miss a great time for sure.  I really wanted to meet some of the new folks that are coming but it is just not possible this time.  I am getting a charge out of some of the new folks coming that actually think this is a fishing tournament.  Won't take them long to find out that it is really a stress test for their livers.

The shell beds I fished were good year round. Not far from Hooterville if silt hasn't covered them.
I also cut lanes through the big mats with the main motor, waited a  half hour and then fished the mats. That was pretty successful.
