Ok is anyone buying something special for the rally.
I have two rods that I frog fish with but am looking for perfect frog rod and reel.
I am days away from ordering a Dobyns XTASY 755c and pair it with a really good frog reel. Now here is my problem that a few of you may have the answer to. Which reels are absolutely built for frogging. No they don't have to be Daiwas but it may help.
I was going to put a Daiwa Tatula ct Type-R on it but the wife said we had money for a reel also.  :shocking:

I have already bought under spins, frogs, and antacids, anything else other than beer Joe.  ~beer~

Any reel can be used for frogging. Most important thing is the frame material. No graphite frames. What's your budget?

Perfect rod and reel? That's been my quest for YEARS. I have my perfect rod, and Lee made it for me. As far as reels? There are several that can fit the bill in this dept. But as LMG just mentioned, frames and materials play an important role. Zip, this should be a separate thread cuz this will be great discussion.

Personally I'm a daiwa junkie. But I use a shimano exsence DC.

That should tell you something.  My reels are all daiwa except: frog, deep crank which is a curado 200b, and a curado 50e that gets swapped in and out.

I wouldn't be afraid to use an original SV 103 xs though.

I am looking for an ultimate frog rod, so I have no budget.

I hear that the grass is now starting to pop thru the surface.  The mats are on their way.  Hope you guntersville folks have some grass cutters on those trolling motors.  Hopefully you are gonna need it.  Time to polish up those grass ninjas

It's been at the surface for a while but in spots it's definitely going to mat up. However, eel grass has taken over in spots and there are some creeks with docks that were sprayed.

North though, lots of grass. The traditional spots are good.

There's still a lot of grass over by me, in browns and spring.

Yessir!  My fault!!  I didn't know he put it back in the oven and I turned the oven on for some garlic knots.

The roast was still awesome with the au jus and horseradish.
