My heart specialist called to see how I was doing. When he asked what I was eating, I said I was eating healthy.  Salmon with a Kale and Spinach salad for lunch. He said, "are you friggin crazy". I asked what the problem was with my lunch. The doc told me both Kale and Spinach interfere with blood thinning drugs and my stents could clog very quickly. Since green leafy salads were on my diet every meal at the hospital, I assume they were trying to clear my space for the next victim.

I knew this one because Eileen is on blood thinners. It is nutz though that they would do that to you in the hospital.  ~b~

Smallie, thanks for verifying this for me. I also hope the members with stents red this thread.

If you want an infection here just go to the hospital. I didn't know you had to eat healthy to die, think I'll eat more meat and less veggies.

You need to be careful of all leafy greens especially the darker ones. They told Eileen to stay away from lettuce too. One doctor told her she could eat the iceburg type because it's lighter green, but her cardiologist told her it's a no no.

Put it in front of you and tell you to eat, then after you eat it say, why did you eat that?  It's not good for you. ~b~ :surrender:
Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?

My doctor told me to lay off the fried foods.
Helloooo... we're in the South hon! (she's from California) EVERYTHING here is fried!

The gas station down the street from me sells double dunked cheesey bacon deep fried waffle sausages. A breakfast sausage on a stick, dunked in thick waffle batter and sprinkled with cheese and bacon, deep fried, then dunked, sprinkled, and fried again.

Lay off the fried foods...
Most common blood type around here is Crisco.
