Been a while since I had one to be proud of ....

It was a long hard fought day. I left the house at 6:30 and didn't get back in till 9:30.

Originally I was going to do a double header, Kenansville Lake and Lake Kissimmee, but got too late of a start to head all the way to Kenansville so I went straight to Lake Kissimmee. I put in at the Overstreet ramp and stayed on the north half of the lake.

The fishing was real sloooow. I tried more spots than I can count and ended up only catching one bass. Did get a couple of bowfish but I don't count those.

About the bass ...she was caught in about 3 feet of water at the base of shrub as I was heading out of a cove.

The lure used was a black NuTech 3/4 oz. swim jig head with a purple/black skirt trailed by a black Keitech 4" swing impact. I threw it on my 734 Sierra. It is paired with a 7.1 Abu Revo that I have spooled with 30 lb. braid.

I dropped the jig behind the main branch that was sticking out and she grabbed it but I didn't know if the jig was stuck on the branch, like happened minutes before, so I gave it a quick tug and when I felt a pull back, I gave it all I got and the NuTech hook went perfectly in the top of its mouth. The fight wasn't long at all since it was only feet from the boat when it bit. Would have liked to dance with her a bit more, but not complaining at all.

Here she is ... all 6.7 summer lbs. of her.

Thanks fore the report and sounds like a tuff day of fishing to only get one fish but it was a nice looking girl.

Thanks to that NuTech 3/4 oz. swim jig that kept the

out of your boat and saved me some ink and paper.

Yessir. I did go pig hunting so knew the numbers would be low ... it is the dead of summer too.

I tried every bush that looked similar to the one this one was in, you better believe. I like that lake, may go back as early as this weekend. Still have the south side to explore.
