Fished the extreme upper end of the Lake today on a very tough bite, for everyone.

Air temps, 78-95, mostly clear, breezy with an East wind ahead of this next front. Water temps 82-87. Water clarity on the main river almost two feet (until the boat traffic muddied it up), in most of the creeks fairly dingy, sometimes less than a foot of visibility. Water levels about 658 in the AM, and dropped almost a foot during the day, with no power generation out of Truman Lake.

I literally caught fish almost everywhere and on everything. I never caught a bass around a boat dock, or on a jig. 7" worms (they really liked Tequila Sunrise today) sqarebills and buzzbaits accounted for most of my fish, with the most keepers (3) coming on the buzzbait, and also missed some fish. One keeper on the worm, and bunches of small fish.

There are shad all the way in the backs, and except for one big miss, only shorts seem to be back there with them, and all in very shallow water. The deepest that I caught fish today was about eleven feet and that was on the main river.

Let's see, east wind, no generation from Truman, 95 degrees, dingy to dirty water, fishing during the day, no current from Bagnell and you caught bass everywhere you went. Dang show off! Oh yeah! No jig bite. Do you know how many would throw a jig forever and NEVER change baits. Dang smarty pants. Quit complaining. You're back---live with it.

I never complained. Not this time. I said I had an epiphany.

It was a friggin' Sunday too. I talked to a bunch of folks that never saw one bass all day. There was a club tourney with thirteen boats. Twenty-five fishermen, and first place BOAT was 5 lbs. 6 oz.. I went to the weigh in. My four weighed about nine and-a-half pounds. And the stupid thing I did, it would make a story.

Oops. A story. Hmmm.

let me clarify:  huge fan of marriage and the love and commitment between two people.  wish absolutely nothing but the best for each and every one of  you brave and intrepid souls.

my hope for all who enter into that grand adventure that it's half of that great novel 'a tale of two cities'
