Oh I'm loving it.  There's a bunch of small lakes and ponds around me.  I've had it out four times already and it's been a blast.

That's the important thing!  As long as it fits your fishing and you're having a good time  ~c~

That thing is awesome... I have so many places that thing could open up for me... kinda jealous.

My sons and I have had so much fun with this.  My buddy even got one now and we go fishing together.

Got it cleaned up and added some Cabelas Quickdraw rod holders to it.  Looking to upgrade the old Hummingbird 200DX and seriously looking at getting a 3 to 5hp motor for it. Couple older ones around me for sale but my gut says just eat it and pick up a new 4 stroke Mercury for it.

Looking good and if it was me I would go with my gut on that motor.  ~c~ ~c~

Nice little boat. I have a similar one I am currently modifying. I posted a thread here on Sundolphin Sportsman upgrades that I did and am doing. Only mod I can suggest that I did that would be beneficial to you is an aluminum ruler riveted on the side for easy fish measurement references, and maybe some foam pipe insulation wraps for the chair legs to increase comfort. I made custom rod racks for mine but you already have those. I'll be building a anti-rotational drift rudder today but your future outboard motor will cover that as well.

Been awhile.  Picked me up a Motorguide Bulldog 54 trolling motor.  Got tired of the foot pedal moving around on me so I made a floor and a small wedge to mount it onto.

Made a rudder tonight out of an old trolling motor and street sign I had laying around the shop.  I've seen several posts about this stopping the boat from spinning around.  Figured I'd give it a try.

Come back and let us know how the rudder works out for you.

Wow!

Me likey the rivet work you did to install the rod mounts. I've decided that as soon as I get mine, I'm using your method to mount my equipment.

Keep posting!

I wound up using stainless steel rivnuts but I found that they are very hard to compress.  I wondered about if I should have used aluminum ones being softer but wasn't sure of they would corrode on me in the future.  It seemed that I wasn't getting them compressed enough and some would spin when trying to tighten the screws or the screws would actually cross thread because I stretched the threads.  I would have to use a tap to fix the threads the best I could.  It was a learning process along the way.  I'm getting better with them.

Sunday was my 45th birthday so I got a pass to go fishing...lol.  I got three boys (13, 9 and 6) and took my oldest with me. It wasn't that windy but there was a fishing tournament going on and guys were zipping back and forth all over the lake.  The rudder did great.  Normally I'd be spinning around from the wakes and current.

We caught a bunch of small stuff but just having fun with my boy is good enough.  Seems like the days are flying by before he's out on his own.

Awesome tip and good to know. I didn't even know they had "rivnuts" until I saw your images. I wonder if some silicone in the guide hole would be enough to secure them for rod holders. May need to do something different for anything that would come out frequently...lots to think about...
