I had plans to fish for bass till my wife joined me for some catfishing.
Well the boat decided I needed an early break.
2 hrs in the trolling motor ran over a bunch of braided line. I decided to motor to the ramp to work on it, but the battery for the big motor decided now was a good time to die.
while moving wires around to get the motor running I was blown onto a sand bar.
So now I am working on the trolling motor just hoping I don't drop anything.
Well I got everything home including a new battery.

Dang... that sucks Zip. Don't you hate it when people discard their braid over board.  ~rant ~xyz

Yes , I always try to get all of my line out of the water.
Some of it was connected to a log and i had trouble getting to it to cut it. I was hanging off the front of the boat with the pitbull cutters to get to it.

Glad you got it straightened out. Quite often I remove all props after a trip just to make sure I don't have line wrapped on them.

One thing about most UB members is we are aware fishermen who take time to clean up some of the trash others leave behind especially line. I like leaving it a little cleaner than I found it.
Words are the exercise for the brain. Words are life expressed... without words we die a slow meaningless death. Silence to the grave is no way to go! So live! Use words! Power of the pen is sharper than any sword! Make it so! Mom said don't surround yourself with idiots! Fly higher than the Eagles... and don't run with the turkeys! Deus Vult!

I hate when that happens. Sorry you and the missus missed out on your catfishing.

Not just in the water but on shore too.  Almost every time I'm out I'll pick up line at the ramp, even if they have a special container for discarding line on site, or from limbs or brush on the water.  I just don't understand why people do this.
Enjoying retirement in the great Pacific Northwest.  I've turned into a fair weather angler.  Why do it today when I can do it tomorrow?

I finally figured out why folks do things like this, they are brain dead, stupid, moronic, have no idea how to think and are just plain spoiled rotten.

Dang zippy sorry for your troubles and sorry y'all didn't get to fish much. I hope you have a better trip next time out. I'm not even going to ask if your caught any fish in the two hours before your trouble started.  ;D

Lip,
I caught 3 but they were all under 13 inches.

I got out today for a club tourney and WON! Zero problems with the boat.
