That Op is fantastic fillet with mayo spread on the meat then batter as you normally would.

My youngest said he wants to try Catfishing when he gets home from Maryland. I can't wait! That's my fishing Alma Mater I guess you could say, and I can't turn down a chance to get back to my roots.

I'm not trying to high jack your thread. Not sure if this is what you're looking for but here's the best 4 out of 14 my brother and I got one night. Yes we were fishing for cats and this was not an incidental catch. We did get several bass that night as incidental though.

We usually use a worm to catch a sunfish then cut it in half and fish for cats. This is a smaller one but bestt pic with the kids!
