I went out a couple times this week. Here's the report.

First trip: With all the talk about fishing a drop shot on another thread, I was jonesing to grab the sissy stick and head to one of my local parks. This particular pond is deep and there isn't much submerged vegetation in it. The water is pretty dark and not your typical clear water rock pit. I started out fishing the drop shot around an underwater bar and boy the bite was on! I ended up with 19. All were dinks but I managed 3 nice fat 2 1/2 pounders. I just couldn't get number 20. All were caught on various small worms on the drop shot rig. No pics on this day.

I just got back from trip #2 on the St. John's. The water has come way up since my last trip. I decided to fish all new areas of the lake and river. It was slow going and I had one blow up on the frog 3 times but he just couldn't eat it. I moved around some and ended up at the opposite end of the airboat trail that I occasionally fish. The water was so high, I just fished right up the trail. I caught 3, all around 2 lbs on a worm, swimmer and pitching. I lost several in the same area. Here's a pic of the the area on the airboat trail that I caught my fish. As you can see there is plenty of water.  I moved around some more and had probably 5 or 6 fish come off after setting the hook pitching a Missle D Bomb. I don't know what my deal was with losing the fish. I'll go through my tackle to see if my hook was the problem. Off the water at 1230. Water temp was 83, clear skies and HOT!  No fish pics either. I was waiting to catch a good one for a photo. It was a fun day anyway, I got to explore some new areas and catch a couple.

Thanks for the report Flats and that does look like a nice area to fish. Did you ever get any of them fish to take your frog?

Barry, Garcia is super crowded now since MLF televised it. Hopefully when they show the other lakes the pressure will even out a little.

LIP, I only had the one fish hit the frog. I tried it throughout the day and changed colors. No takers.

I hope they go to Stick Marsh, maybe for the championship round.

Tanks Flats, that is some great looking water.  Sorry it was so tough on the second trip, but that's fishing for you.  You just know that place is loaded with toads somewhere!
