Fished above the 70MM, water temps were 77-78 on the main channel, over 80 in the coves, creeks and hollers. Air temps were 78-95, partly to mostly sunny, with a light southerly breeze sometimes. No water generation until after 1 PM.

The water clarity was 15-18" except where torrential rains had clouded it up some in the creeks.

My best bite for keepers and sub-keepers was with a T-rigged worm and a crankbait fished on main channel points. The depths varied from 8-15' feet.

I would have liked to have waited for the current to sort itself out but I was worn down by the heat.

I also observed a lot of small white bass activity, some not-so-small Hybrids schooling, and caught one keeper Walleye on the same stuff as the bass.

I'm glad you saw some wipers. They are hard, if not impossible, to find in the lower lake today. I haven't caught one on the lower lake since the turn of the century. Walleye are throughout the lake now. People don't fish for them because they don't know they are there. I catch them off Chimney Point regularly. I'd last less than an hour in the 97 degree heat. Take care of yourself.
