I haven't been able to fish this week but have talked to anglers coming in and on the docks. I would love to be out in the boat right now but my body won't cooperate.

Bass: have moved from the coves to the points, bluff ends and drops. 10-20 ft. on topwater,, worms, football jigs. As always, bass are on docks lying in 10-20 ft. They haven't moved to deep water docks at this time but could any day. Almost any brush pile in 10-20 ft. will hold bass and crappie.

Crappie are schooled beneath large docks and marina docks with cruisers and shade. You can also find them on bluff ends and brush piles. Lots of keeper crappie this season.

Catfish: best bite on the lake at this time. Everything from live bait to hot dogs will work.

Walleye: are moving from point to point and back again as long as bait fish are present. They will be farther from shore than bass. Consequently, few anglers have found or fish for them.

Anglers are still flogging the shoreline for bass. Hard to believe as this is the fishing is very good for offshore bass from post spawn till fall forage migration. Look for forage on points and drops as the forage is the key to this lake. A point may have little forage and few bass or lots of forage and bass. Make sure you use your electronics. Remember that a brush pile on the main channel only lasts a 7-10 days before wave action may destroy it.

Thanks for the report Wizard and I know you will be glad when your body will let you get back out on the water again.
