OK, so whats the deal with that.  I have read a couple posts here where the angler mentions bending the hooks over and improving the hook up and I have seen posts that folks bend the hooks up to improve the hook up.  Can't say as I have ever done that but I do wonder what our resident hook guru Brother Bo has to say about that.

I can tell you for sure that hollow body frog hooks are the worst possible situation. An angler has to physically bend the hook on a hook set in order to penetrate the jaw of a bass. I've been waiting for Bo to design a single hook system that would work.

The current double hook system in hollow bodies requires the hooks to spread apart as you try and set the hook, creating a loss in the amount of pressure applied.

I try and straighten my hooks so they both face straight forward and there is no angle.  When prefishing I have a set of frogs that the hooks are completely folded under so there is no way to hook a bass but the weight of the bait is unchanged.

watching this conversation with interest.

I don't miss many fish on frogs.  I never bend hooks and use them 'out of package'.

know folks who love SPROs and hate LT's.  vice versa and every other frog mfg out there.

they all work for me.

and my all time favorite hook for toads is the 5/0 mustad EWG Megabite

I don't bend the hooks at all. I find the frog hangs up a bit more in the slop and vegetation when you do that.
