The hogs have come up Mattesse Creek again in St Louis County, Mo. We have tried everything to keep them away. This time they tore through a chain link fence and killed a dog. It could have been a child. We're going to the next county council meeting to try and get them cleared out. You can't hunt them in an incorporated area. The problem of them eating plants and tearing up the creek has now become a threat. A couple of guys said they would shoot them if they see them. I told them they better think on it before they get torn up by the hogs. You miss and they will chew you to pieces. I brought a boar's tusk to our gathering. Folks couldn't believe that it came from a hog. There used to be no feral animals in the county. Now there are hogs, coyotes and feral dogs.

Sorry to hear this Wizard and I hope now that them hogs have killed someones pet they will tey and stop them or get folks who know what they are doing to get rid of some of them.

Is using a bow not an option? No idea about your laws. I know we can't discharge firearms in incorporated areas, but bows are good anywhere so long as you're 100 yards from any building.

We have a similar situation here. Up until the mid 90's we were in the top 3 for animal control. Then our laws changed because the methods of control were put on the public ballot instead of leaving it to the people who have degrees in wildlife management. Now a lot of the people who voted for the change are crying again because coyotes and bears are eating their little manicured and groomed poodles out of the backyard.
