Fished Miller's Ferry Monday-Wednesday with long time fishing partner John. Most areas received 6" inches of rain Saturday and by Monday the river had risen 18' to 61' which is 5 feet below flood stage below the dam and the waters were rolling, muddy and filled with debris to say the least. After fishing mid lake on Monday and John catching 2 and myself not even getting a bite we had doubts. Tuesday we went upriver to the Elm Bluff ramp and ran to our all time favorite spot and by 1 o'clock, neither of us had caught a fish. About to cut this trip short and head home, we tried one last spot and at last caught a few fish. From a 50' stretch we had 6 nice 2 pound+ spots and a big mouth to save the day. Wednesday morning we started right there and caught 9 spots including one just over 3 and a 3-12 largemouth in the first 3 hours from the same 50' area. Ended the day with 20 to salvage what started out as our worst trip ever. Almost all Spots and all were still full of eggs and of course water levels were nearing normal as we are leaving so next week may be great. Surface water temps ranged from 56 in one creek to 70 in most areas in the afternoon, visibility improved to 1-2' in areas of the main river. Various plastics, white chatter baits, white spinner and a citrus shad crank bait caught fish for us. What started as the worst day ever in 30+ years of fishing Millers Ferry ended up as a decent trip.

Thanks Lipripper, hope you are doing well.
I'm holding my own and not losing any ground and in about two weeks I'm going on my yearly 3 to 4 week Crappie fishing trip. I will be throwing some Bass lures also but mainly going meat hunting to restock my empty freezer.  ;D Thanks for asking.

Thanks for the report and congrats on finding a few. Conditions like that make it really tough, but you know they are biting somewhere and you stuck it out and found them ~c~
