okay, got to the classic expo today.  will get to the Vexus photos shortly, but indulge me for just a bit.

parked for free.  walked in for free.  first pro I see is at the 'meet the pro' booth right as I walk in.  It's David Fritts.  Huge fan of the guy.  He's why I toss crankbaits and use the DT series so much.  Wanted to introduce myself and share my appreciation for him, but lines were long and I figured I'd just be 'one more'.  Ran into him about an hour later at the Lew's booth.  Same thing, lots of guys, just not into waiting in line.

on the way out, saw KVD over at the Strike king booth.  Man, was he ever 'on'.  Positive, joking, really engaged with the fans.

all of the pros that I've ever seen, watched, talked to:  they're all like this.

what a great industry and great people.

now on to the Vexus.

didn't go by the main vexus area, they had this green boat off to the side..  great looking boat and should touch 60mph with the 150 on back.

Thanks to Barry (hope I have name correct) for the 20 minute conversation.  I think this is a great looking boat, folks say it runs, handles like glass boats.  I'm excited to see someone pushing the aluminmum market to higher levels of visuals and performance.

first of all, these are aluminum boats with fiberglass storage inserts and fiberglass consoles.
painted hulls.  great color schemes.
rod boxes with inserts:  center box on this model takes 8.5 foot rods.  port side box takes 7-10's if I remember correctly.
console can take a Lowrance 12 inch unit.

this unit is wired 24-volt.  didn't look to have enough room for batteries to support a 36-volt system.

trailers are SHARP and painted to match, accent boat.  Same quality paint.  Fenders looked amazing.

Hopefully some others got a chance to see this boat and can chime in as well.

Not sure that green is for everybody but I kind of like it.
And that hull. Not your standard modified v jon boat at all. It's still well beyond my means right now but I'm curious to start seeing all the specs and reviews coming in

CF, tks for sharing the pictures with us.  That is a nice looking boat from what I can see from the pictures.  Does it come in a Dual Console?

didn't ask.  assume so.

fishandkamp

I believe all of them are available with or without the second console. Go here. The orange boat has the dual console on it.     https://vexusboats.com/

Nice looking boat. For everybody that thinks glass boats are too much money, note the price, all the goodies we want come at a cost. Not saying it's not worth the money, just saying extra goodies cost.

add power pole, chargers, batteries, top of the line trolling motor, top of the line electronics.
doesn't matter what boat you start with, those costs only go up.

I prefer aluminum.  that's me.  I also don't see them as 'step backs' from glass, and they're getting better all the time.

are they perfect?  no.  then again there are pros/cons with glass boats.

it would scare the jeepers out of me to try and find a used glass boat that I could get as many trouble-free years out of as compared to a tin boat.

Saw their website a few times and they posted new pics. Also their facebook page has pics and prices.

The 189 is in the mid 20's! Holy cow! Seems like a fantastic price for what you get. I wish they made a 17' in 18k-20k price range. I'd be all over it!

Still the 189 looks like a phenomenal boat with tons of storage and just seems well thought out. They look sharp.

don't think that price is for that boat the way it's rigged. if it is, it's a steal, but when you see "as low as" it usually means you'll pay more, maybe much more. I would bet that the boat pictured will be more than 40,000.00.

3deez you're right. Actually if you look at the bottom I believe it says 39,998 as shown.

Hard to see in that pic but I remember seeing that on their facebook page.

Thanks coldfront! I like them a lot. Compared to other tin boats I've looked at, the Vexus looks like it has larger more spacious lockers and storage space. Nowhere have I read or seen where the hull is stepped with a pad. I'm assuming it is?

The only shortcoming I've seen in any of the Vexus videos I've watched is that outside of the center rod locker, all of the other lids have lacked the lift assist gas springs. They just flop against the rail. All that attention to details everywhere else, you'd thing that would be a no brainer.

All 4 of their aluminum hulls are padded.

I'm not knocking the price, just saying all the goodies cost money. A Tracker 195 with a 150 4 stroke with all the goodies would come out mid or even upper 30s. The equivalent glass boat will be more but the gap is closing. If I won the lotto I'd most likely get a Tracker TF 190, 181/2 feet with a 115 but with the electronics and TM I want your talking mid 20s or more, not cheap.

If I won the lotto I would buy the biggest baddest boat out there. Then hire a guy to load and unload the boat. He can sit at the ramp all day waiting for me to come back LOL!  :-*

lo lo I don't fish txs anymore and don't want the hassles with upkeep, I like the idea of hosing it down and being done with it, maybe polish and wax once a year or so, plus it would be easier for my beat up arthritic body to deal with. ;D ;D It's all I need, actually more than needed, for the waters I fish. I might buy a bunch of ALX rods though!
