Trolling Motor "Direction Control"

Because I have a foot controller for my trolling motor I wanted a way to "set the direction" of the trolling motor and not have to hold my foot on the "rocker" part of the controller. By drilling a hole in the base of the controller and a hole in the "rocker", then using a carriage bolt, a spring, washers, and a plastic wing nut, I can now set the constant speed on my trolling motor and just by adjusting the plastic wing nut I can maintain the direction I wish. Works best when trolling in the middle of a lake. See photo  . . .

Thanks for the video link. I had never heard of Troll Perfect. But if I was buying new again I would opt for a hand tiller on my trolling motor.

Go with a MK Terrova with I-Pilot, you'll be much happier. ;D ;D

I like the inginuity!
I have a troll perfect, be careful not to over tighten it. You can wind up breaking things.

I agree, If you go too tight it ads pressure to the steering able and use might break it.  It has not happened to me in 5 years of using a troll perfect but I could see where it could happen.
