My wood is fine. I keep the boat covered all times when not in use. Please don't think this is the original wood however. I had some panels replaced over 12 years ago.

I learned this hard way when I was younger. I was dumb and lazy and didn't cover the boat for a spell. I will tell you that South Florida sunshine will destroy anything if left out uncovered long enough. Ever since that expensive mistake, I cover the boat religiously after every outing.

Love the boat. Fished great, and was good in tournament use. But my main problem with it. Was gel coat work is expensive to repair. That boat got t-boned on the highway. Or I would still have it. So for my fishing. In rivers and out of the way lakes that don't get tournament pressure, the aluminum boat is prefect. Like Lou I learned a big lesson with water in the boat. Wood is still in great shape. My problem was the foam. No aluminum boat is sealed completely. And closed cell foam will get saturated over time. Limit exposure to fishing in or being called out in the rain. And it will last the life of the boat. So I got the hull I want. Just rebuilding it back to new. Is cheaper then the prices of new. And it's fun , for me anyway.

You need to setup a build thread for boat. At least update us time to time. I know you're not in a hurry but we'd like to show incentive with showers of compliments from the board.

So i'm assuming, you got the hull paints, now it's time to foam in. Then, decks and boards. Anything crazy special you're going to add on?

Lol, I will post a build tread. As soon as I settle on what I'm going to do with it. My plan was to make it a open platform,and tiller. But there is to much of the hull frame to rebuild for that. So now I guess Iam going to basically put it back the way it was. But change the layout some. I have use of my son-in-laws Basscat and a other Tracker at the lake house. So Iam no in a rush. Won't be missing any fishing time. Iam a tinkerer so I always need a project.lol

I haven't taken a pic of the boat for a whille but I can tell you what I have done to the boat over the years.

Starting with Trailer:
1. Fulton winch
2. LED lights
3. Mini-retractable boat buckles

To the boat:
1. Maxuum Trolling Motor: 55lbs with a Ninja Blade
2. Lowrance Fish Finder. Cheap one.
3. Automatic Bilge pump.

It's an older boat, several of the interanl components in the outboard have been replaced due to wear, but so far the boat is doing well. Who knows when the funds will be avaible to get a new boat, so in the mean time, I really take care of this one.

I should get some additional LED lights for the trailer. Did you replace the bulbs or add strips?

i made it a point to wait on a boat until I could store it in a garage. suffered for a long time with that, because of that, decision.

Just finished the LED light strip install. Photos make the light "warmer" than they really are. They're probably 6500k. Extremely bright.

Not sure how I feel about them since they had to be installed on the inside portion of the gunnel and I prefer to not have to see the strip. I'm a stickler for clean setup looks.

Probably do interior compartments next. I have battery power touch lights that are velco'd inside so I can use the lights else where. Extremely convenient so I may not switch.

I have a 95 with the original wood and it's still good, the previous 2 owners kept it covered when not in us and so do I. If I get caught in the rain when I get home I raise the dolly wheel all the way and let the sun hit for a few hours be fore the cover goes on, it works.

How did you run the wiring? Did you run it through the channel for the accessories, or behind the carpet just below the gunnel? I am doing mine the opposite of you, I ran the compartment LED's first, and am very happy with the results. I'm wanting to put LED's both up front and in the back, and am wondering if it would make more sense to run the wiring through the channel, as I don't see myself using any of the overpriced accessories this was made for.
