Hello, I just tried to crank the engine and the ignition is totally dead. It doesn't even beep when turning the key to RUN position. The batteries are fully charged and all fuses are good. It worked OK last time I used it about 2 months ago. Any clues?

Welcome to UB Scottie.

I have Tracker 165 Pro with a 25 Hp, and everything that could have died has probably died in one way or another over the last 18 years.  lo

Is your outboard a 2 stroke or 4 stroke?

Culprits that may lead to a dead ignition:

1. A fuse
2. Your solenoid could have gone bad
3. Your Stator could have gone bad
4. Check your battery connections
5. Lastly, check your kill switch. May have been inadvertently tripped.

Good luck!!

There should be a fuse on the motor itself, a manual will tell you where. Is there a cutoff switch on the boat somewhere?

Man I have seen it so many times that you have to check it first. If the ignition is dead and it won't beep when you turn the key, that is a sure fire kill switch was pulled while it was sitting. I hope so anyway. I have seen it a lot.

I missed seeing this! ~b~

I'd be looking at the neutral starting switch/relay. Shifter linkage could be slightly out of alignment.
