I fish a fairly shallow (0-20ft) in most accessible areas and currently use a 7 ft micro magic pro mh paired with a curado k hg and 30lb power pro. I'm looking for a dedicated jig rod, 3/8-1/2 Oz pitching and casting type. Was considering an alx zolo 7'4 dragger. Anybody have a review on this rod or advice in similar price range?

Never heard of Zolo's until I just looked them up. But if you are looking for great rods in the same price range, the Dobyns Champion 734 serves as my jig rod, one of my favorites.

I mentioned in your other post the rod you are looking at goes up to 1 1/2 oz. not 1/2.
Just want to make sure you get accurate recommendations.

Yeah.... That definitely changes the recommendations.

The ALX rods have a couple threads going on bbc.  They are often said to be as sensitive as rods costing a lot more.  I purchased a Toadface and Deputy as a Christmas present to myself.  I have high hopes for the Deputy for not only a sensitive jig rod, but as a very versatile rod as well.  It is one of the rods I want to use this year to find out which is more sensitive to me when jig fishing.  Hammer rods get similar comments and I have the 7'3" MH to test.

I felt the Dragger might be a little more power than I needed for the weights I will be using....mostly 3/8 and 1/2 oz. plus trailer.

I say "Buy it." and then give us a review.   lo
