HydroWave - yay or nay?

Has anyone used a HydroWave device? Do they work? Are there pros and cons? I am completely uneducated on these things and wonder if they're too good to be true.

What can you tell me about them? Do they work better in certain temps or environments, like grass vs. docks and riprap, etc? Considering it for a Christmas present but want to be sure it's money well spent.

I know KVD is a big proponent of them but they're also one of his sponsors, so there's that. I've done some research and people seem to be more believers than non-believers in them, so may be worth trying out.

I use mine in the fall mainly, also turn it on very low when fishing shallow, no clue if it helps, but it damn sho don't hurt

They really do work, Ive seen some crazy things happen when they get turned on. But hey, you could just cheat with live shiners too.  Oh, and senkos, those are cheating too.

Yes, it really can. Buuuuuuuuuuuuut, you have to be around fish.

Bamabass did one on his 300 gal aquarium and it was pretty solid nay imho.  If it cant get a reaction out of 2 bass in 300 gallons of water it aint pulling fish in a lake to me.

Not saying things don't happen when its turned on but who's to say the fish weren't coming to that spot anyway? I have schools show up out of nowhere near my boat numerous times.

He doesn't use senkos. He loves his cranking. That Hydrowave really fires up the fish. He does know how to find them though.
