I'll be getting out to my local park sometime towards the end of this week to try and catch some.

Yesterday the big girls were busting out in the middle of the lake. Too far from me. It's annoying when that happens. There was no topwater activity anywhere near me.Ended up catching a dink on a worm just before the sun set for the sake of not getting skunked lol

If my boat is small, and I fish a canal thats only 10ft wide, does that count?  lo
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

Lol, I'd say it probably does!

I haven't had much action lately myself. Just a couple weeks ago, the action was in the morning, seems to have switched to evening though. I caught a little one yesterday right before sunset too, but that wasn't for lack of bites when it suddenly decided to pick up. If I'd had more time and skill, I think I could've hauled in quite a few. It went from dead water to feeding frenzy in a matter of seconds just north of Monroe.

Capt. BassinLou

I fished the park yesterday, slow start but I managed to figured out what the fish were doing and managed to catch a few. Nothing big this time around but on light spinning gear, I sure had some fun.

SteelHorseCowboy

That's what I was using too. You can catch a minnow and it feels like a whale, tons of fun.

Yeah, and when it is a whale, you learn how to use your gear effectively real quick. Setting up the drag and playing the fish right is key with this type of gear.

I must be insane then cause I use my Ugly Stick UL all the time it's a blast playing them fish on it but then again it's a Ugly Stick and I know it can handle the stress  ~bb

Lip I think you've forgotten our biggest challenge is vegetation. There is no shortage of vegetation here.

But yeah those Ugly Sticks are beasts.

I hit one of my local parks last week. It was dink city on a fluke and chatter bait. It was fun none the less for the 30 minutes that I had.

Dinks are fun to catch when nothing else will bite and sure beats getting a skunk.

I love my GX2 Ugly Stick. Flexible like the original, but with a better backbone.

The cold front is reaching my neck of the woods as we speak. A lot of rain, and the cool down should begin sometime tonight. I'm not complaining though. This summer was brutal, I welcome a little bit of cooler weather. Emphasis on the words "little bit".  lo
