Jim and I did some bass fishing to see if he remembered how to catch them. Bass were using weeds and docks on the far upper end of LOZ. Jim used a swim jig and I a tube. Both worked equally well. There are few coves in that area of the lake. The forage were hanging near weeds and docks that were closest to channel swings. Easy to pattern and we set up a milk run about 2 miles long. We went through the run twice with almost equal results. The area appeared to reload with bass within an hour of fishing it. I hadn't fished the upper end of the lake in years. I'll keep this trip in mind for next years fishing. Jim is a heck of a walleye angler and had fished the walleye trail when he was younger. I'll rejoin you folks on Saturday. The weather is great and the wife wants to take her cruiser out one more time before it is stored for the winter.

Thanks for the report Wizard and sounds like you and Jim had a great day catching Bass. Enjoy the nice weather while y'all still have some.

Thanks for the update. LOZ should be coming into some great fishing with the traffic letting up. Looking forward to reading more reports.

Nice job, but I have a question.
What is a milk run?
TTK has spoken.

A milk run is where you have identified active spots where the bass replenish the spot. You go from spot to spot bypassing everything else. Hence, a "milk run". For you younger anglers, a milk man used to deliver to the door of your house. He made a "milk run" of the same houses each day of delivery. Your making me feel ancient here, son!
