What is the worst thing about being a bank fisher? Always having to watch out for dog poop LOL

Thank you Roberto. You have to make to one of these some day. :)

Pretty tight Race this month. Only 20 inches separate 1st from bottom. That's only a couple key fish.

It was a good thing I fished the classic, Fred. I have not been having any luck at my usual haunts.

I took it out briefly the day I bought it. This was the first real trip though. My buddy and I had a good time. Only fished 1.5hrs or so. Little pond with no ramp way in the back of a park. Not even bank area from the park.

The water had a ton of silt and I didn't see any fish activity at all. Still a nice morning out. Kayak fishes great. Tons of room, standing isn't bad. Put it is kind of a pain to stand, paddles, and fish. You have to set one down over and over. So I mainly just sat most the time.

With my back and knees the way they are I couldn't fish from a yak very well. Sooner or later you will find some fish and get the hang of landing them. Did you have your PFD on  ~shade

Went to the park for 1 hour today. Started with a booyah popping frog in cricket color. Pooping it pretty hard not far from the bank this 21.5 violently blew up on the frog. Ripped the mouth on hookset and pulled the rod out of my messed up weak hand. I managed to regain control thanks to having the other hand on the reel handle.

Having to retire froggy I pulled out the Aqua Frog. Another color I've done well with here. After a little while I had this 17.25 smash it.

Kept working it after and got one final hit, not a big one. But something happened. I froze. I just watched the frog go under I fumbled around and by the time I was ready to set mentally and physically my frog was not in a fishes mouth. Gave it a good squeeze. Water squirted out and I called it. It was sundown anyways. Not sure what happened to me in that moment though. Ever happen to you??

Thanks Barry! Working on it, hoping I can get 2 more lol. I know, I know, that sounds greedy, but heck if there is a month I can make it happen, it will be this one!   ~shade

Oh and to answer your question I'm sure we all have set there and watched our Frog go under without setting the hook soon enough.  ;D

It was the weirdest thing. Like my brain didn't give my arms the signal to hookset lol. Even when I was consciously thinking, why am I not hooksetting right now.

Awesome buddy, so happy for you! You are killing it!

SFL BassHunter

So all week they have had these FEMA tents set up at our local parks. The other day I managed to get into the park because they were turning people away it was already 6pm.

The traffic has been ridiculous . So many people out there trying to get their share of food stamps.
I thought this morning I would swing by the park and try and catch another nice fish on a frog. But the traffic on a three lane street at 6:30 in the morning was bumper to bumper. Wasn't able to get close to the park or even get to the highway from there. I ended up having to take a side street to another highway entrance.

Went to some urban canals Lou and I fish and threw a couple different spinnerbaits with no success. Then switched to a uvibe and caught a tiny dink. (Sorry Lip, no need for a skunk diploma today!) Went on fishing it with no more bites. Saw a few nice peacock bass but was unable to trigger them. Also spotted a largemouth, maybe in the 15 inch range and couldn't get it to bite either.

Went home after that. Well it looks like my fishing has been derailed till next week when FEMA packs up their food stamps and gets the heck out the parks.
