Glad to see all of y'all made it through the storm without any major damage or injuries.  ~c~ ~c~  Hope the cleanup goes smooth and everyone get the power back on. How long you think it will take before the fishing gets back to normal down there?

I know the fishing has been tuff down there lately but was just wondering how much this storm was going to mess it up even more.

Fished Hillsborough from 9 till noon just to unwind from the storm. Caught 3, measured 1. Water has been pulled down for Irma. Which is good for fishing, and bad for launching. In the attached picture of me loading, normal pool is bottom of the rail board on the dock. Anyway, going back early tomorrow since work is essential personnel only and I'm not.

Definitely not essential. I'm retired Navy and work as a contractor at US Special  Operations Command. Only the guys still in uniform are essential.

I have such bad cabin fever. Are all the parks pretty much closed?

What is the worst thing about being a bank fisher? Always having to watch out for dog poop LOL

Is tropical closed? I haven't noticed the gates. I'll have to check on my way back home today if anything.

Cool, let me know. Haven't been wanting to waste gas on going and seeing them being closed

Okay fished the river this morning only caught one.  Water came up a foot-and-a-half overnight. I'm sure the fish are confused.

Fished Weston tonight for about an hour.  Caught five bass in the 12 to 14 inch size.  The one good thing about the storm is it tore up and blew all the the thick surface weeds and the lakes are back to a normal surface look.  Water is up about a foot from normal pool.  It was good to cast a bait after almost a week off.  I almost felt back to normal, at least for a little while. ???
(Fish) - P/B 11.4, Everglades, L67, L28, Little 67, Alligator Alley, Sawgrass, Holey Land, Loxahatchee, Ida, Osbourne, Okeechobee, Weston Lakes. Broward and Dade Canals.

I fished the dock a few times in the past few days, before and after the storm. No luck.

Most the vegetation was ripped out and blown onto shore. Our dock had a piece broke off. The neighbors new dock and some others on the lake are all destroyed so I am definitely grateful. Or house has roof damage and we tarpped it. Might need some new drywall in the ceiling in a few rooms and some matting and shingles.

RV and vehicles had no issue. Small part of the fence broke and hit the RV, just a small dent. I already fixed the fence.

Before:

After:

The plywood was showing behind the tree, sorry no good picture.

The last pic is the new dock missing the screen. To the left of it had a walled room on the end of the dock.. as you can see it is missing, the roof was on the shore.

Hey West, glad to hear you guys are ok.

Me too, we are very happy it isn't worse. The worst part is the $ and that it will delay our RV travels. It is just stuff, we are fine and lots more who are way worse.

cport

Finally got home last night, when to check on my boat, and was happy that it suffered no damage. But I was floored by how high the water level was in previously low low Orange Lake.  My pontoon boat almost hit the roof of the dock! I took some pics the next day. Now, if only those infamous Orange Lake floating islands weren't blocking me in, I could see if the water level has helped the bass fishing.

Omg Cport!! I would be frogging the heck out of that!! Lol

Capt. BassinLou

Especially the brush on the left side of that dock!! Not that I'm giving you hints or anything.

SFL BassHunter

Shut it Lou! Stop helping other people! You're supposed to only tell me what brush on what side of the dock to throw a frog lol.  ~roflmao
